1. Korg already rereleased the MS20 as a controller keyboard when the 'Legacy Collection' plugins came out. I reckon if you love the MS20 (and why wouldn't you?) you've probably either got an original or the plugin / controller. I Fecking LOVE the MS20 though.
2. I use a DHA VT1EQ for my fretless and it sings - it's all about the mids... Super quiet DI too
3.
oooohhh ! but, how about that for a bargain ! http://basschat.co.u...r-i-75l-posted/
I saw that too - nice piece of kit for little monies...
4.
A preamp.
yes, but I still want only one control knob on my amp. Dual concentric pot at a push...
5.
Aren't you taking about a power amp? Loads of companies make em. Still wondering what you think the greatest amp is :-)
I suppose so - you'd need to drive them a bit harder than you average bass guitar can to get the most out of them though. Something that converts the signal to line level and then into a power amp to hoof it out of the speaker would be ideal...
6.
Whichever one suits you best. In my case it's an Acoustic 220 with a 402 and 404 cab.
Also - who stocks 'Acoustic' amps in the UK? I'm a diehard Jazz bass fan and want to know what the fuss is about.
7. Dunno really. If you've got a good active EQ on your bass, and an efficient cab then you just need a box with a 'make it louder' knob. Why does nobody make one of these? Money no object - I'd probably have one custom made. (I do like Ampegs amps though - not so much love for the cabs).
8. Been through quite a few personally. Groove Regulator - brilliant; should definitely be on your 'must try' list. DOD FX 25 (and - much less versatile, and you'll need to spend some time learning to play them to get the most out of them. The FX25 has a real volume spike towards the bottom of its sweep, so best used of fast notes or in conjunction with a compressor. Q-Tron - Funky filters, but have a tendency to produce said volume spikes. Bassballs - not one that I got on with personally. Kind of fun to play with, but not the classic 'quacking' sound that most players associate with filters. Various Wah pedals - you'll lose mobility as you need to be working the pedal whenever you need a filter. Good for sweeping over long, repetitive passages. Also not good if oyu fall over a lot when stood on one leg... Hope this helps.
9. "Practice makes 'permanent', not necessarily 'perfect'" dunno who said that, but I agree with it.
10. I'm old enough to remember the days when promoters did just that - bands/venues paid for a service and (more often than not) got it. What exactly are they offering to do for you? You provide: Their wage, your music, your own crowd. They provide: the venue. I don't reckon that worth £600 though.
11.
Is there thread on this forum where you haven't quoted that yet Paul? P.S. Inventor of post-womble here. You can do it with anything.
I don't think so, but if you fond one let me know and I'll paste it in. . Some of Chopin's other quotes include "Oh I say, get your petticoats off" and "yes, it's easier to play in the nip" etc... Not massively appropriate for a bass playing forum. ...or is it?
12. "And So I Watch You From Afar" get my vote. Do bear in mind though... 'Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.' Frederic Chopin
13. That's a beauty. All the best for the sale (but I wish you didn't have to, that must be a real wrench).
14. Actually, I'm tempted to spring for a micro head, I've tried the MiBass but wasn't too impressed. Hopefully this'll sound a bit more lively as I sort of like the way it looks...
15.
Ashdown Pie? ╥ What's that?
All base, nothing on top. So it's a biscuit really...
16. Ah Melodyne, what would we do without you?
17. I've got this 'pricking in my thumbs" it's either carpal tunnel or gout, can't decide which. Marry; i'faith etc...

I've put them in my project basses and I've never had any problems with them. Will try to record some samples tonight.
19. Bumpage. Great filter, but I'm going for something a little bit smaller.
20. Artec SE2A. don't know about the internal dimensions of the 'vette, but these are a good fit for Jazz basses. It's a modular unit, so the different pieces just connect via prefab wiring looms. Should be a doodle and they're cheap as chips. http://www.thomann.de/gb/artec_se2a.htm
21.
She totaly murdered "you got the love"; and I mean murdered in a bad way. That awful vocal part of hers towards the end always makes me turn off the radio!
Is there a good way to murder something?
