1. y'know, if you take the frets off you can tweak it down a bit more...
2. Nobody's mentioned 'Moondance yet'? 'Lovecats' by the Cure has a nice little walking interlude - well, more 'stretching your legs' than walking, but it works perfectly.
3. looks like a pearly king who got mugged by button-nutters.
4. For me it was the TE SMX dual compressor pedal - just didn't do it for me.
5.
If you DIY, do it becuase you really enjoy DIY. You won't save money and make anything good enough or reliable enough for gigging at the same time.
Erm, I beg to differ - Both of my basses are DIY and half of my pedalboard is DIY; certainly reliable and sounds great. Much cheaper than buying equivalent specced kit.
6. Brilliant! Well done Bilbo and thanks for sharing.
7. 'sup. What's the best way to stick the covering of my cab back down? I've got a few tears down one side, but none of them more than an inch long - do I just superglue it or is there a better way?
8.
On the up side my GAS is [s]cured[/s] postponed.
fixed
9. How 'bout dis? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_kw=9v+battery+clip+dc+adapter
10. That's exactly how I run mine - just 'tickles the peaks' off.
11. Any videos of this knocking about yet?
12. Based purely on the specs I'd plump for the Roland. Focusrite pre's can be lovely though (not sure about the 2i4 though).
13. Classic rock covers band have a 'triple whammy' this weekend: Friday 14th Dec - Queen's Hotel, Buxton. Saturday 15th Dec - Coach and Horses, Oldham Sunday 16th Dec - The Talbot, Burnley.
14. What's the specs on the cab (impedance/output ratings etc...)?
15. Night off. I'll be 'Hitchhiking' with my towel and a very interesting book...
16.
We have a [s]winner[/s] WEINER!
Fixed
17. Thanks (as always) for these videos. Enjoying your methods very much.
18.
No visible grain so I guess its Ebanol
Yup, just been looking online and mine's Ebanol too. These things sound incredible on any bass - mine's on an AXL Jazz bass copy with inexpensive PUPS and a cheap Artec pre. Best sounding (and playing) fretless I've ever had. If I didn't need a fretted bass for my classic rock covers band then I'd have had this for a second fretless bass.
19. send it here: http://www.guitarrelics.co.uk/telecaster-basss.php You've already got a head start, so it could work out quite cheap...
20.
How civilised
Not without cake...
21. If it's mounted on a printed circuit board then I'd recommend (insist is closer) a temperature controlled iron and some desolder braid. I've used desoldering pumps on PCBs before, but what you want to do here is avoid melting the copper tracks on the board. The trick is to get the iron hot enough to melt the solder, but cool enough to leave the PCB undamaged. I've found braid more successful for this. Top tip No1 though is that when you're removing solder from a board apply a little bit more solder to the joint as this helps the other stuff melt easier, and you're less likely to damage the board.
