1. I'm in ramsbottom and this sounds like just my sort of thing. PM'ed
2. My bass goes into a DHA VT1EQ set up to run as a preamp (ECC82 instead of 83) - from there I send a clean signal to the desk and send my bass through the FX. If they want to they can mic up my cab or take another DI from the amp. Really quite a flexible little setup.
3. Tom bought a pedal from me this week. Quick payment and a really pleasant chap to do business with. Happy bunny.

Just traded my DI box for Discreet's Behringer BDI21 and everything went very smoothly*. Great communication throughout and a lovely bit of kit. *No lubricants needed for a simple trade.
5. As promised - my updated board. It's undergone a massive shuffle recently. I rack mounted my chorus and trem pedals (both home made) to free up some space on the board and it's worked a treat. The board looks like this: and the 'Box of Mod' looks like this - still a work in progress, but it's all wired up and functioning for the weekend. Signal path is: Bass, DHA VT1 EQ, 'Mini' Q-tron, Russian Muff, BDI 21, OC-50 Octave, BSY600, then to the amp with the chorus and trem in the FX loop. Which is nice...
6. 3TS always looks classy with a rosewood board.
7. Looks like a really neat job there, but then if [sfx] can't make a pedal look (and sound) classy then there's little hope for the rest of us!
8.
I felt compelled to make a pedal board that would match my new amp
Lovely!
9.
Nothing whatsoever. Go in clean and eq on amp. Just some new zingy DR strings and whack up the gain on the amp.
Hmm, there may be something in what you say...
10. I'd like to play every day, but with two little 'uns and all the rest of it I find that I've got very little time to properly play - exercises, stretching my abilities and technique. I used to do loads of playing, whether I was gigging or not, but just for the minute I've got other priorities.
11.
Mackie and Belringer are very very close to being the same stuff...
Mackie tried to sue Behringer over copyright/design infringement and the case was dismissed by US courts. Mainly due to Behringer agreeing to settle out of court - one would assume that Behringer accepted some degree of culpability in this case...
12. Overdrive, fuzz, filter, octave should do it. Of course, there's always room for more fuzz...
13.
Really? Do people do this? Can they look at themselves in the mirror?
+1. I keep trying to tell my OH about kit, but she just rolls her eyes/glazes over/tuts and sighs etc...
14. I seem to remember these being really good at 'string' sounds (amongst many others). Nice keyboard, good luck with the sale.
15. +1. I've used a couple of their pedals and some of their rack stuff - the pedals are essentially Boss rip-offs, and the footswitches can feel like they're held in with cake, but they sound really good for the money. Same with the rack stuff - the power switches tend to spring off if you're not careful, but they perform well enough - and relative to cost they do really well.
16.
Hey dudes!! Been offline or a while as we're still on tour. The promoter of our show in Luxembourg shot this so I thought I'd take advantage of the wifi... Just finished a gig in Den Helder and tomorrow is the last show, then home in Sunday to my own bed!!
Crikey, how tight does that drum kit sound?
17. close to completing mine. Played through it this morning and reckon it's nearly there... photo later on this evening.
18. Just picked up one of those clamps now, thanks for the tip. However, you're all wrong - the single best thing about Aldi is "STOLLEN".
19. Another +1 for the Ultra Jazz from DiMarzio. I put a pair in an old 5 string squier and it transformed the sound. f you want to spend even less money and end up with a pair of hot, clean J pups then GFS ones are ace. I've got a pair in my fretless 'bitsa' jazz bass and it sounds incredible. You'll probably have to import them from the states, but even once you take that into account then they're still really good value for money. http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-JB-Pro-Jazz-Bass-Style-Alnico-Pickups_p_318.html currently $60 for a pair, which I think is about £47. No brainer.
