1. Bump for an awesome pedal (photo might help to shift this).
2. If it's just for transcription then I use a pair of these: Again, the tracking isn't 100% accurate, but I find the more I use them the better they are.
3. In my defense, I thought this was Soooooo far removed from your usual tasteful musical output that my curiosity got the better of me. M'lud.
4.
all very end of the pier variety show....
erm, I've had some lovely experiences at the end of the pier...
5. what about some software like "Digital Ear" - about $90US. There might be something similar on the market that's a bit cheaper though. Fort hardware the cheapest I've seen is the Sonuus G2M, you might get lucky and pick one up off the 'Bay for not very much.
6. I've only done Fender/types before so not had to bother with marking out...
7. Most bridges share the same layout for the screws, so positioning it shouldn't be a problem. You can (or should) always check the intonation after you've fitted a new one. Be aware that under the bridge there's an unattached wire that seemingly does nothing except disappear into the control cavity - this is an earth wire and needs to be there. It's practically impossible to solder this wire to the bridge (which, in this instance acts like a mahoosive heatsink), so it's simply trapped betwixt body and bridge. Hey, it's good enough for Leo Fender...
8. yup, check your local crack-converters. If you've got documentary evidence (dated photos or similar) then you can plead your case to the old Bill if it turns up. I hope the scumbags who stole this get run over feet first.
9. I've got an 18v adapter knocking around somewhere, I think it's a standard 2.1mm Boss size barrel, negative ground. I use it to power my Aguilar Tone Hammer a while ago. You can have it for P and P if you like.
10. use the 'more reply option' at the bottom right of the text box and then attach the image and 'add to post'
11.
Amazing. I managed to create THE perfect bass using this. Must buy one of these. Although it does say Stratocaster on the headstock.
I've got one like that - not the perfect bass, but pretty close...
12. Lock function - really good idea! I wonder if that can be retro-fitted to EVERY guitar pedal to stop the tweaking inbetween songs?
13.
I've earned both those qualities !
Ditto. Also Boorishness.
14.
I've found that since the point where I was confident and experienced - at life - enough to stop conning myself into thinking we're all equal and was therefore able to accept that most people I come across are dumber than me , I've found such things as karaoke much easier to deal with.
True dat, we simply take comfort in the fact that our tastes are superior to theirs and we could probably beat them at Scrabble... [/snobbish elitism]
15. Giant Steps? We'll call that 'plan F' I think. Blues (with substitutions) then 'Rhythm Changes'
16.
Who did your guitarist look like?
nobody really, he was quite short with long blonde hair. Me? I'm a dead ringer for my twin brother - he wasn't in Queen either.
17. Like it! More power to your elbow, sir.
18. That's a beauty! Good luck with the sale.
19. Can't believe this is still here - it's a really useful version of PT. Alright, it's not the latest incarnation but it did everything I needed it to when I produced my band's EP - including editing multiple drum tracks with no phasing issues.
20. I did 7 years in a Queen tribute act and had a blast. Loads of punters loved our set (75% of the 'live at Wembley '86 set) and they really liked what we did. It helped that our singer was a dead ringer for Freddie and sounded an awful lot like him too. Our drummer looked like Brian May and we were all Queen fans. We made a lot of money, enjoyed ourselves and made a lot of audiences really happy. Nobody died either - so I'd call that a successful project. I've seen some awful ones though, just dire.
21. Being in a band with people who would do this to you? No thanks, you're better off without them. I know it probably still smarts, but it sounds like you've had a lucky escape; you could have been signed to a label and been on tour with these twats i.e. heavily in debt and obligated to live at really close quarters with them.
22. "Desperado" by the Eagles. Come to think of it, anything by the Eagles. I fecking hate the Eagles.
23.
Slade in the summer of '73 at Blackburn King George's
That's where I saw the 'Crowes. It's a bit of a hole isn't it!
