1.
The one wire coming out of the pickups is coaxial (contains both wires)! hear is the pdf for wiring instructions : http://www.emgpickup...J_0230-0056.pdf .. diagram 2
that's what I was going to suggest - best to use wire strippers if you're not too confident, it can be a bit fiddly. Remember not to blow on the solder joints as they are cooling, tempting though it is...
2. I sometimes get the old '5p/50p' when I'm reading tricky bits, but that's good for keeping me on my toes...

Lovely, well done that man - really sensitive playing of a great arrangement. Top marks.
4. I think sampling and sample manipulation is just as valid as any other form of music. It can be just as tricky too.
5.
Damn - this is happening more & more often, s'not fair! There's two large boot-sales near me but the best they generally offer is 1920s brass ornaments & tatty Matchbox cars.
oooh, brasstat - I'm in!
6. Nice! Odd meter should be mandatory, it's sooo cool to groove on. I can't help thinking that an octave pedal would make bits of that a whole lot easier...
7. Yup, I'd start with the pickups. Wizards are held in hight regard on here, but I've never had any so couldn't say. I've used Seymour Duncan Quarter pounder on a P that was great, and also a GFS set were brilliant - staggering that they're not bigger on this side of the pond. http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-PB-Pro-P-Bass-style-pickups-Sweet-Alnico-Vintage-Tone_p_333.html I also tried one of their Alnico Super mega ultra hot thingies, and it was everything they said it would be. Superb.
8.
..but as a talking point and as a collectors item you will rarely see anything as cool or rare.
Too true, I have never seen anything as cool as this! Love it.

Kevin sent me a tropics fish cap for free, nowt, chuff-all. Lovely, generous chap.
10. My preferred sound is the OC2, I've had the Aguilar and the EBS, but I missed the 'OC2-ness', so moved them on. Nothing wrong with those pedals though, the sound just wasn't for me.
11.
I play with dynamics... I either play hard or REALLY f***ing HARD
+1!
12. Just listened to the live version posted on here and I'm warming to it. The studio version I heard a while back seemed a bit erm, iffy? Can't remember what it was that put me off, but I seem to recall it wasn't a good listen. Maybe I'll try again...
13. herro to you too, ruverry to see you.
14.
Spot the watts...
Mmmmm, Fletcher / Munson curves.
15.
Roll the balance control on your stereo fully left, then fully right then back to the centre for a quick demonstration of that theory Not twice as loud but there may be a benefit from having two sources of sound instead of one.
Where's that function on my iPod? Can't find it anywhere...
16. Not had that - PT10 needs an iLok to open, whereas PT8 and below needs the Mbox to function - is it something as simple as this? Failing that you could delete and reinstall the drivers for your hardware. Oh, you've not just 'upgraded' to PT10.2 have you?
17. This just in - EZ Drummer Lite for £10 http://www.timespace.com/product/EZDL-120/3/9999929/toontrack_ezdrummer_lite_%28serial_download%29.html?utm_source=Fri+17th+August+2012&utm_campaign=Fri+17th+August&utm_medium=email It's my 'go to' drum software, really easy to use and sounds great.
18. I went in VERY carefully with wire wool on mine, then epoxied it.

20. MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. A MIDI controller keyboard just sends instructions to wherever you've told it to (virtual keyboard instrument in Logic for example), it doesn't generate or process audio. To record your bass amp through a mic you'll need a soundcard (either the built in one or a USB/Firewire external) to convert the audio to a digital signal that the Mac can process. If you want to do keyboards and drums through Logic instruments then you'll probably need an external soundcard AND a MIDI keyboard, don't know if there's anything on the market that does both...
21. It's worth picking up a used Mighty Mite neck too - I put one onto a cheap fretless body and it's transformed the whole instrument - sounds incredible now. They occasionally pop up on here for round about £100 and are well worth the money.
22. I've been admiring Lakkies from afar for a while but I reckon I'll give them a wide berth.
23.
You can get near to a P sound with a Jazz. A mate of mine does it very nicely with a 77 Jazz - prob one of the swamp ash ones of that period. However if someone is on the same bill, using an actual P, well it does show.
True dat, just switch us the neck pickup and you're really very close. Not quite though... Tried a few P's but couldn't get on with the neck. I reckon Dunn had it right ( this and loads of other stuff too) - P body and Jazz neck. Unbeatable.
