The "Green Naugahyde" album from Primus.
I remember catching them on this tour and being a bit underwhelmed by the whole affair.
Excellent album though!
it's been a while since I did any recording with serious microphones, but I've and great results in the past with the Sennheiser MD421 or the EV RE20 - there is no proximity effect with this mic, so it can go incredibly close to the cab without becoming boomy.
I really think Amp missed a trick when they released the SCR-DI preamp pedal by not having the mid frequency selector - that (for me) the best bit!
Good to see an Ampeg style pre with this feature on board. GLWTS.
Buy cheap, buy twice. Good quality patch cables are a must. I once A/B'ed one of my brother's cheap ones and a George L one - the difference in tone was staggering!
Not sure if I like prog or not, I like Rush, Marillion, Tool, Carnivool etc but I don’t like Dream Theater or Genesis and absolutely cannot stand Yes.
Am I prog?
The behringer BDI is a clone of the sans amp, so there's no real need to do any more spends.
The only real difference between the two is that the sans amp will run off phantom power from the mixer, and the behringer won't.
Want to know why 'Nevermind the Bollocks' sounds so beefy? Steve Jones (the guitarist) played all of the bass parts on the album as Sid was either too wasted or couldn't play them. Maybe both.
Jones only knew how to pay the guitar parts, so just played them on the bass instead which delivered a massive 'doubled' sound. 'Simon Ferocious' had no part in it.
this. He was a puppet bassist who replaced the best musician in the Pistols - namely Glenn Matlock.
Malcolm McLaren fired Matlock because he liked the Beatles.
