1. Thanks for the offer Jim, but I'm having a 'thin out' and am trying to simplify the board.
2.
Moleys should do the trick. Next time drill bigger holes... and rub a wax crayon or candle over the threads before screwing.
calling Discreet...
3. Ooh, nasty. Mighty Mite necks are great, not seen one eat screws though. I'd second the mole grips idea, don't be tempted to 'wiggle' them out though, as you'll probably damage the holes in the neck.
4.
Big Muff should have so much gain available that volume drop shouldn't be an issue. Maybe it is because the guitar version is cutting so much low end that you are hearing it as a volume drop?? The Green Russian/Sovtek one is the way to go
Love mine, it's sat on my board next to the wooly mammoth clone.
5. I use one of these on my Jazz and I find that I've got a bit more of a crunchy, 'bitey' sound. The OP is right though, I doubt it would have the same effect on a P bass.
6. Almost bought one a couple of years ago and wished I had whilst I had the money. Alas, I don't have the money anymore, but bump for a really lovely and versatile bass.
7. Not had this long, but haven't got the box or instructions. been on the board since day 1, and I reckon with 3 other dirt boxes it's time to thin out the collection a bit. It looks like this: and sound like a Boss ODB3. Heavy duty cast metal case and really flexible range of sounds. SOLD.
8. I've got similar problems at the moment - Hartke Hydrive 410 and LH500 - the head has a built-in scoop, so the mids have to be at full to cancel this out. I'm having to use an on-board EQ to boost them before they hit the amp. Really powerful rig though, and with a DHA VT1EQ it's awesome.
9. I've got some samples that I might list on the 'bay then. I recon I could do more than 10cc too...
10. Currently available for sessions and lessons over the summer. 20 years playing experience, 7 years experience teaching instrumental and music technology based subjects, BA, MA Grade VII ABRSM Theory, PGCE etc. PM me for more details.
11. I had one a couple of years ago and got the perfect "Geddy Lee" sound straight out of the board - Jazz bass, M80, Protools. Simple as.
12.
I started off around age 15 and played in a church band for a fair few years which was a fantastic start as it taught me to play by ear, to listen to the rest of the musicians, to change songs at a moment's notice.
This. I was depping at big gigs (800 ish) about a week after picking it up. I'm a much better player now and doing a lot smaller gigs, go figure.
13.
Nice board! What do you have in there?...can't really tell
...cuddly toy...
14. here's a nice distraction:
15. JPJ's playing on 'The Lemon Song' (Led Zep II) is a masterclass on 3 chords, in fact, all of zeppelin II is worth learning. Someone else will have to recommend some of Geezer's stuff as I can't get past Ozzy's voice, and consequently don't have any Sabbath.
16. Replied. Would consider trade for a VM 4 string Jazz plus cash adjustment.
17.
Well I watched issue 3 and was impressed, especially as it's free. My only complaint is having paid eleven quid initially and not having access to the extra features.
Ditto.
18. I'd prefer cash (wouldn't we all?) but could be persuaded for a part ex...
19. I'm considering some block stickers on my unlined, ebanol fretless fingerboard. Black ones though, obviously.
20.
My Hartke LH500 is the bees knees, and louder than an earthquake.
True dat - the LH heads are really loud. Bit lacking in mids, but definitely loud.
I play it through a Behringer 500 watt cab with Aluminum cones which is basically a Harke 2x100 rip off. It gives a pretty neutral sound.
I really hope that's NOT a typo .
21.
Looks Legit.
Nice use of Poe's law there. Looks more JapCrap than fender to me...
22. Get in touch with Dave Hall (DHA on here) I swear by his valve stuff - really good quality kit. Who knows, he may already make something like this.
23. Start with the Bjork album - track 4 is an old jazz number from the '40s - that should break you in gently.
24.
Another +1 for the Adam A7s. Great monitors for the money.

I like the Yamaha's (I use HS50m's) as I was pretty much glued to the NS10's at uni.
If you can get a mix to sound balanced on NS10s then you've pretty much cracked it!
