1. This...
2.
This is a quote from Shakespeare, isn't it..?
Marry, i'faith etc... Nah, 'fraid not, it's from Dr Seuss - "...hop on pop, we'll soon be famous, when all the boys and girls can name us, prettier than Samantha Janus? come off it silly Warwick, my anus" and so on and so forth.
3.

Now then Wayne, don't tell me you got that in a Corsa. I reckon you'd need at least a Mondeo.
4. I had a similar thing from playing DB many moons ago. Mine was diagnosed as tendonitis in my LH thumb - basically the tendon gets inflamed and can't move freely in the little groove in your knuckle and that's the painful bit. I was given anti-inflammatory gel, and I also got my GP to sort me out with some acupuncture (sadly I had to pay for this) which worked a treat. Now I make sure that I ALWAYS warm up before I play.
5. 'tain't mine sir, short trousers in the house? I think not - quite the sartorial faux pas.
6. Warwick? Warwick my anus! points for trying though.
7. Alright then you 'orrible lot, who's responsible for this?
8. my current two - Nice!
9. King for a day - FNM. Duchess - Stranglers Queen Jane - Kingmaker (double whammy!) King of wishful thinking - Level 42 The queen is dead - the Smiths
10.
So basically, if you guys could only have two basses, you would have a four and a five?
That's me - fretless 4 and a fretted 5. I often think about consolidating/upgrading to just a 5 string fretless, but common sense always seems to get the better of me.
11. been past it a couple of times. I always assumed it was vacant...
12. Gentle bump for an ageing thread... Pickups gone, but neck and tuners still available.
13. I'm an advocate of 'less is more' when it comes to miking up a kit. If the drummer's really fussy and starts to threaten physical violence then I'll use four. Great track by the way, the world needs more octaved fretless basslines.
14. cheers for the heads up, I would have missed it too.
15. what's the going rate for international sporting spectacles? Someone thought we'd do it for free, but I thought I'd check on here first...
16.
Hope the sound quality is better than the DVD, it's dire. I watched the DVD last night
Check the sound settings in the DVD menu - apparently it was coded wrong. By default it goes to Dolby 5.1 (IIRC) instead of 2.1 stereo.
17. I've just spent 2 hours or so listening to Zep albums (mainly "BBC sessions") off the back of this thread and yes, Bonzo was a monster! I'm a huge Rush fan too, so in Neil's defence what he does with Rush is perfect for them, but probably out of place in Zep. Similarly Bonham wouldn't be as effective a drummer in a band like 'Rush'. Horses for courses really.
18.
Yeah I like Jazz basses but they'd be better with one volume and a blend wouldn't they?
What, like a Blade?

new arrival

Just 'won' this on the 'bay. Suffice to say I'm very excited... I've had a VT2 EQ before this and it was a bit much, so I mistakenly moved it on and regretted it fairly soon after. Happy days again. Ooooooohhhhh.
20.
by the way those Blades are killer instruments
Yeah, I bought it 'on spec' after playing my tutor's at Uni a few years previous. Fell in love with it the day it arrived and were it not against God's holy law, i'd make it my wife.
21. firstly it's the feel of the neck - neither of mine (Bitsa Jazz and Blade 5 string) are high-glossed, and I'm much happier with that. They sound great too, but I've gone the opposite way about it than you -John East press all the way baby. I can dial in 'my sound' no matter what amp I'm using. They've both got at the lovely 'growl' in spades too. . Excuse me, I must go and play one of them...
22. what sort of stuff is it for, and what do you already have?
23.
Or 'one lady owner - vicar's wife'...
...I could tell you a tale - I'm going to the bad fire for sure.
