Don't learn the songs until 'they should be straightforward' - learn them until you KNOW that they're straightforward, this should cancel out any nerves/unexpected nakedness etc...
If you pop the top then you should be able to see the value and taper of the pots. I’ve got an old TC head that’s broken that I don’t mind desoldering them on mine if they’re the same value.
I wouldn’t gig with someone with extreme political views, and more importantly I’d tell them why - you have to call it out so that they know it’s unacceptable, otherwise they’ll just carry on until they find someone who’s prepared to accept it and never question themselves.
Me too! I/ve tried about a dozen different compressors over the years and have finally settled on the Briggs Diamante optical compressor. I too play fretless almost exclusively and it's great for tightening up the tone.
Well, the flats/Jazz combo was good enough for John Paul Jones on the classic Led Zep stuff, and in recent yerars Flea has been sporting flats on his Jazz basses, so at least you're in good company.
