1. Brilliant news Clarky, glad to hear you're back in the saddle.
2. "PICKUP ONLY - NO COURIER - TOO MANY DAMAGED GUITARS - NOT EVEN INSURED HELPS" So am I bidding for just the pickup or the whole bass (assuming that I pass the audition)?
3. I really want this project to work, I thoroughly enjoyed the second edition - particularly the Jaco video, and am waiting with baited breath for the next instalment, but I have to say; the longer I wait, the less impressed I am.
4. Try this, should help you find out where the harmonics are, and what pitch they are: Cheers, Paul
5. good to see that most of his collection is 'in hand'.
6. Is this one a black label Japanese, or a blue label 'made in Taiwan' version?
7. Got this for the Snarling dogs 'wonder wah' - I would presume that the 'wah' circuit is based around the same idea, but with a couple of capacitor alterations to allow for more low end... http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i44/bside2234/SD-WW-Pg-2.jpg Sorry, I haven't got anything else at the moment.
8. Pino, Pino, Pino. My '80's guilty pleasure is this though...
9. Allow me to muddy the water somewhat - you could always do what some players have done (Donald 'Duck' Dunn etc) and play a Precision with a Jazz neck. Problem solved.
10. Musician's Union are perfect for this sort of thing.

DIY Effects

Beautiful job there, well done that BC'er.
12. Let's try this the other way around. If my car were a bass then it would look a bit like this:
13.
What about this 'un? I was thinking something like this:
...surely that would be something without a roof?
14. perhaps all cats are left-handed
15.
I don't buy the whole 'lock with the bass drum' thing. Instead lock in with the whole kit.
+1; locking in with the bass drum (exclusively) is like locking in with the 4th fret of the 'A'string on the guitar...
16. Good to hear it went well, and thanks for keeping us posted. Isn't it one of the best things in the world?

Fenmanbacker

Yowser! That really shouldn't work, but it's quite beautiful.
18. Blackpool Winter Gardens about ten years ago. Sound guys were really on the ball and we just went out and spanked it!
19. Switch-mode transformers have always been problematic for me - give me a big ol' hunk of metal everytime.
20. Also I think the number of hats is more important than the style of the hat... Glad to be of service.
21.
Alex Griffin, 'lead' bassist of Ned's Atomic Dustbin.
Hooray for Ned's! More bands should have two bass players. If that happened then we could all gig every night - win.
22. A friend of mine swears by these: Hope this helps, Paul
23. How does that happen to a musical instrument? I am deeply shock.
24. Ooh, the East pre will have brought that bass on in leaps and bounds. Loads of folks on here swear by the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pups, but TBH, the East is brilliant on its own, personally I'd not bother changing the PUPs.
