1. [smug] I've thought long and hard for some minutes about which particular piece of kit I regret selling, and I don't regret any sales. They were all sold for a reason [/smug] I DO however, regret not buying a fretless Wal for £700 roughy ten years ago; I was but a poor student at the time...
2. is the '1' key missing from your keyboard?
3. erm, get off basschat and start playing them?
4. My knob never really goes above 'half'. I wish I could find somewhere big enough to push it all the way up.
5. yowser, that was cheap. Well done that bidder.
6. Ugly as sin, overpriced and no bids? What's the world coming to?
7. "have you got a spare..." insert the usual suspects here - lead / strap / amp / pick / kettle lead / cockwang. Winds me up no end. Grrrr also: "this is suchabody, she's my new girlfriend. I said she could come to rehearsal with me" Translation: "Despite being completely egocentric, feckless, ugly and wretched I've finally found somebody who's interested in me as much as I am. For the duration of the practice I'm going to be looking at her and pouting instead of concentrating so that you all know I recently got laid - this will entirely invalidate the whole session and be a waste of everybody's time so why don't we all go home and I can bump uglies again. Until she finds out what I'm really like and dumps me." Oooh, we do like to moan don't we?

Behringer

I'm using the Behringer BSY600 synth bass pedal at the moment for holding drones. The switch is a bit hit and miss, but it'll do things that the Boss SYB5 won't. It also feels like it fell out of a cracker - but not too far.
9. Erm, a mixture of up-strokes and down-strokes. Getting coat.
10. I had the DiMarzios, and they were really quiet ( as regards noise), and really nice. Slightly oversized, so I had to chisel the routings a couple of mm's to slot them in. Some people have reported that these don't have as mush 'bite' as other replacement pups, so that might be a good thing for you, can't say I noticed all that much of a drop in the punch of my bass, but ti did sound an awful lot better than the stock squier pups. HTH.
11. Isaac Hayes? Ya Daaaaaaaammmmmmnnnn right!
12. I had the funk until I took an arrow in the knee.
13. I've got a dBx 1066 (my friend gave it to me) and only use half of it. I use it to just 'tickle' the peaks (gain reduction of roughly 6dB, seldom more), so it's more of a safety net than an effect. Nice to know I've got lots of options if I'm doing slap though. That's not very often.
14. I bought mine off Rich, and am happy to concur that it is, in fact, brilliant!
15. Yup, Dave Hall stuff all the way. My VT2 EQ is a main-stay on the board of delights. also, I nominate "andydye" for special award, as his avatar just made me chuckle.
16. Bump for this rig, I used to have one and they're awesome. Still got the cab and it's currently taking everything my 1000W Ampeg can deliver.
17. another pedal before it (eq) as a booster?

Sold

Bump from a fellow Bright Onions user. Really well made and useful bits of kit, and a bit of a steal at this price too. Treat yourself, it's Christmas!

Thumb rests

The best thumb rests I've found are belt loops.
20. agreed, I think loads of other players did this 30 years ago, and better too. I wanted to like it too, but it's really uninspiring. Surely the point of a bass 'solo' album is to push boundaries of tone or technique (amongst other things), not just please yourself. I think listening to this whole album would have the same effect as watching him masturbate in public - it would just make you feel uneasy and a bit sick, it would also make you wonder why he's doing it in public.
21. 9v right hand? nah, that bad boy is MAINS powered!
22. Hi Jake (et al), DV247 have EZ drummer on offer at £59. http://www.dv247.com/news/December%20Drum%20Deals%20from%20Toontrack%20Music/133008 HTH.
23. +1, All good amps are worth repairing. Modern stuff (with a few exceptions) are all made really cheaply, using the most economically viable (cheapest) components, as opposed to higher quality 'old skool' technology. I'd certainly never getting rid of an SWR in favour of anything that Ashdown make.
