    Glad you've got a result you're happy with. I prefer 500K logarithmic for volumes and Linear for tone.

    I used to, but found the tension was unbearable (I suffer from sporadic tendonitis in my fretting hand), so I found that I had to drop a dress size to get them playable, which felt wrong. I paid £15 for a set of Olympic flat wounds from Amazon and found they're a much better fit for my playing.

    I think the context of his advice is everything - he;'s talking about improvising, not simply playing a tune. If you're playing a tune that punters expect to recognise, then you'd better be sure that it IS recognisable. If you're improvising over the chords then we can start to blur the boundaries of what's right or not.

    Marshall practice amp TE AH150 with 4x10, then added a 1x15 very briefly an Ashdown thing a couple of SWR SM400 and 220 heads for a while Ampeg svp Pro and Laney Power amp in to various cabs, currently a 1x12 and 2x 10

    Aren't there laws against stacking SVT heads - something to do with changes in the earth's orbit I think.

    Neck tilt on the neck plate is a plus too - I had one on my 90's Hohner fretless Jazz, which I regret selling.
