1. a little bit of distortion (gentle, warm kind, not overdrive or fuzz) might 'lift' the line too.
2. Up for grabs are: 5 in-line Gotoh tuners ( not the big, elephant ear ones), a 5 string bridge and a pair of straplocks. all in Chrome. £60 for the lot?
3. Ooh, I'll check with my mate - he used to have one and loved it.
4. what about Jackson/Charvels? That is, if you don't looking like you're about to go postal.
5. OR you could try setting up a bass a to C instead of E to G? A bit excessive, but a great approach to fretless.
6. I can recommend the Tone Hammer too, it's a really flexible piece of kit with some great, great tones at your disposal.
7. No "Ampeg pre" love?
8. Looks like Green Alsation has just outed himself as a 'chorus-whore' .
9. Hi all, I sold Tolas my Dave Hall VT2 on here, and he was a pleasure to deal with. His English is vastly superior to my Portugese (I know 3 words, one of which is unrepeatable in polite company) and the transaction went without a hitch. Deal with confidence with Tolas. Cheers, Paul
10. I know some 4-tringers who get away with it by using an octave pedal, that [i]does[\i] tie you to one particular spot on the stage though. Mine's a five and I'm very happy with it - it's right for me and what I do, but that might not be right for you.
11. Epi semi. Naughty...
12. Photo bump.
13. everything looks the wrong way round. Is there a problem with your camera?
14. photos on the way, I'll get them up tonight, not been able to get down to the church where it's kept so far.
15. In Doddy's extended absence I feel compelled to disapprove.
16. Fat-tatchat... images
17. I've had the CE2B and a CEB3 many moons ago. The Ce2B was lovely and clear, but didn't play well with active basses. The CEB3 has the advantage of being able to select the frequency at which the chorus effect comes in, but I seem to remember it being a very good unit. My absolute favourite though has to be the EBS Unichorus - it does everything a chorus should, and also has the ability to blend the effect with the clean bass sound. It's got a pretty good flanger on it too.
18. thanks for the advice guys and gals, I've just pulled the trigger on an Aguilar Tone Hammer DI, so I'm looking at changing the live setup anyway. I'm starting to think I might be a little bit impulsive...
19. I liked it. It genuinely raised a smile.
20. No problem with that at all, Peaveys will play on their side, in a house fire, halfway down a shark, in an air disaster etc... they're pretty much bombproof.
21. ah well, chuff all happens in Ramsbottom so no famous musicians, though some of the local BBC news presenters occasionally potter about the town. But where are my manners? Welcome on board Emily.
22. Blackface SVP PRO preamp. One owner from new, retubed recently with Watford valves 'Harma' tubes, a little bit of rack rash, but in full working order, no crackly pots etc... comes with two channel modded "Marshall" footswitch. SVP 1500 power amp - modded to run at 1500W through a single speakon connection £500. It's based in Ramsbottom, Lancashire if you'd like to come and have a play. Photos further down. May split.
23. I tried to resist, but she got the better of me. Great bassline and a nice, sultry vocal. Bring back sleeper. http://youtu.be/LcdA2ynLh4c[\media] OK, hijack over, as you were.
24.
I was asked by a mate whose rock band I`d left if I fancied auditioning for an indie/punk type band who were looking for a bassist. I`d been gigging for about 4 years solidly to the point where I`d left his band, and was relishing not being in a band at the time, as it meant being able to go to the pub every night. Turns out the band was Echobelly.
Erm, I'd call that a lucky escape. Shame it wasn't Sleeper, with the delicious Louise Wener.
