1. Paperweights, doorstops and a holder for paperclips.
 2. Don't think so, as the 'plug' bit is more like an RCA connector than a laptop plug. Could just pull the HD out of it and sell it like that, but I know I'll get more for it with the HD intact.
 3. Freebie bump . Same model as mine and noise/buffering isn't a problem. Lovely analogue chorus.
 4. Hi all, I'm after borrowing a 65W power supply for my old 17" G4 powerbook. Basically mine's given up the ghost and I'd like to borrow one to reformat the drive before I sell it for spares. It's the old 'barrel' type connector, not the new Magsafe thing. Anyone feeling benevolent?
 5. FTAGH - Quiktime (sic) quartz metronome. Goes from 40 - 208 bpm with a really annoying (but functional) A440 HZ tuning pitch. Will switch between 4/4, 3/4 and 2/4. It's in really good nick and has been sat in my bass case, unused, for months. TBH I've only taken it out to turn it off when I've moved the case and it's been turned on accidentally - not a good idea in this day and age to be walking round major cities with a ticking black box... First come, first served. PM me and I'll post it to you gratis.
 6.
Thank you - I will have a very slow go at that.
Best way - the slower the better with a piece like this.
 7.
That "looks" good, but I don't have the bass with me now. We need someone who is kind enough to play it (nice as you should have promised! ) and upload!
I'll try to record it tonight.
 8.
+1 I can buy beer and have sex every night.
...and reach the first fret. I didn't watch for longer thatn about 20" - just not my thing. This is the internet - if I want to watch people engaging in 'teenage exercise' then surely there are sites that specialise in that sort of thing? No doubt the kid's got some chops though.
 9. as a stance against 'Pick Nazism' I'm going to play fretless with a pick in BOTH hands. That'll show 'em.
 10.
Sounds like the bass guitar equivalent of eating a veggie burger with cutlery carved from the bones of innocent lambs. One just defeats the point of the other.
Sssshhhhh, don't tell Morrissey.
 11. I liked it. The interviews are a little dated, yes, and the Carol Kaye one is incomplete, but the section on recording bass is worth some investigation; there's some good advice and a few nice tricks to be had there.
 12. Hi All, I arranged this a while ago whilst sitting at my kitchen table with a laptop and a bass. It is IMHO the most beautiful melody in the world and works really well as a solo bass piece. You have to promise to play nice though, it's quite delicate. all the best, Paul
 13.
They are definitely appreciated for their messiness rather than their faithful tracking.
+1. I had one a while ago but couldn't get on with the volume drop when the blend control was 50/50. Good sounding pedal though.
 14.
1063?! That IS an early Fender Never mind pre-CBS, that's pre-Battle of Hastings. Where's my chequebook?
Beat me to it.
 15. I had one made for e by a sound engineer after my second ever gig in 1993. It started out life as 20' of Van Damme cable with Neutriks at either end. I've had to resolder bits when it's been abused (people tripping up over it etc) and it's currently 19'4". I reckon it'll outlast me at this rate. Every other cable I've bought after that has failed within a couple of years. They just don't make 'em like they used to; maybe it's because people make them using centimetres these days. I dunno?
 16. My guess is that he's wincing at all that reverb - I know I did. Either that or he's thinking about tidying that sty of a bedroom.
 17.
Very disappointed really. I'll get a replacement PF-500 but if that suffers the same problem I won't get another...
Very sad that such a major player in the amp market has stooped to cheap manufacturing for the sake of a few dollars. I love the Ampeg sound too, but won't buy new stuff for fear of this happening.
 18.
Ok! We've got enough to order three 12 packs Can we make it four?
That's some baaaaaaddd pick GAS you've got there. Seek help.
 19.
I agree. It's like: "What shall we do today, Cowboy Dude?" "I dunno... maybe mosey on over to the park; stack up some bass cabs; belt out some crazy distorted riffs. Same as we always do". "Yeah, same as we always do. I'm so on it". "Let's do this ****. I'll get my hat". At least that's how it plays out in my head...
Fo sho'. Dat's how he roll. (and similar hackneyed cliches in young peoples' street vernacular)
 20. I always leave feedback whenever I sell or buy anything. I've had a couple of transactions of late when the other party hasn't been arsed though. "good manners don't cost naffink"
 21.
If I'm sharing I'll set my amp for the space and make a note of the settings for quick resetting if someone else wants to change them.
If I'm sharing my amp then I let the other layer have the entire second channel on the proviso that they don't muck about with mine. So far this has worked really well. Really fussy bout the 'no drinks' rule also - I find it incredible that some players will risk their life just to have a pint close by. Madness.
 22.
Rehersal night last week
Youse guys could have made an effort there - the young lady has obviously gone to some lengths to 'scrub up' a bit - the rest of you look homeless in comparison. That's the worst thing about being in a band with a girl type.
 23.
The case should also be given the relic treatment.
But then it would be worthless...
 24. I'll go in for 2 blue ones please (not too bothered about the colour though, if you can't get blue then I'l take whatever).
