1.
I'd expect the guitarist to make it to the end of the song with a missing string and then change strings in about one minute between songs.
+1. tenths on the bass are surprisingly good at 'filling out' when a guitarist has a "skinny 'un" go down on him. Or if it's a 'riff based' piece then an octave pedal is your best friend.
2. bah! Pesky basschat. Looks like i'm going shopping again.
3. all of the above suggestions would work, or yot could retube with 12AU7 or 5751 tubes, that way yot could still drive then a bit, but have a reduced output. As an aside how do these amps sound? I've currently got an svp pre into an svp power amp and an looking to keep that kind of slightly wooly tone but with some mid definition. My back's starting to feel the strain these days...
4. PRIMUS TICKET back up for sale. Pm's, bad jokes and cake to the usual address.
5. lovely piece of wood that, good luck with the sale.
6. Yup, single FX are the way forwards (and oddly, backwards too).
7. Sold Mart my redundant OC2, really smooth transaction, rapid payment and great comms. Deal with confidence. Paul.
8. Speaking of modding knobs, has anyone used one of THESE before? it's called Kickdisk and is supposed to make adjusting parameters on an FX pedal a breeze without bending down mid song / set to fiddle with stuff.
9.
Here's a question: If you're got your foot on the pedal, holding a note, can you play over the top of it?
Yeah baby! works like the Boss SYB 5 - trigger a drone, hold the pedal down and play over the top. This has a latch mode as well so that once the drone has been triggered your foot can come off it to do something more useful (wah pedal, up on a wedge etc...). Which is nice.
10.
I really want one of those Freeze pedals!
Just arrived today from a BC'er. Awesomeness in a nano-sized box. I'm about to fire the keyboard player .

Quick question

I love EZ drummer. not cheap, but some great results and loads of MIDI loops included with the kit packages. Choice of microphone balance / room mics etc... Wouldn't be without it.
12. my latest incarnation. Nice.
13.
My mini board - for my acoustic funk trio - Slight change from my usual set up TC Ploytune -> EBS Unichorus -> Subdecay Echobox -> EBS MultiComp Shep
Egad Shep, no OC2? I'm shocked. Oh yeah, Sibob, nice dubstep line. Like dat.
14.
Now that's a collection
You're exactly right - that's a collection, not a pedalboard. [\pedantry]
15.
Sold a pedal to Paul - a nice guy, despite the scary address!
It's not that bad; next to a cemetery in a place called Bury? Oh yeah, I see your point. MoooooHaaaaHaaaa!
16. Just bought an EHX pedal from topo morto. Really well packaged, very fast delivery, great comms etc... I would say that I'd definitely buy from Ivan again, but I'm cured of GAS now.... no, really, I'm completely GAS free forever. Ooooh, that looks nice, wonder what it does.....
17. Lovely EBS Octbass arrived in the post this morning. Really smooth, quick, well-informed, easy and above all, pleasant purchase from Slazman. Top BC'er (looks after his kit too). Paul
18. Sold pending the usual guff.
19. Hi all, I've got a lovely Boss OC2 that is now redundant. The sticker is missing from the bottom, so I don't know whether it's Japanese or Taiwanese (though I seem to remember it's Taiwanese anyway) and it's got velcro ready for pedalboard fixing etc... Very good condition - some small scratches on the case but everything works perfectly. A classic can be yours for £45 posted (mainland UK only). Please enquire within. Cheers, Paul
20.
What sort of chickens is he using? Flats or rounds?
If they're revisiting some of the older, more proggy stuff he'll probably have a capon... getting coat.
21. Another unimpressed Ashdown user here, tried various models in various rooms and just couldn't get on with them. Also the Trace Elliot SMX compressor pedal seemed to be a bit of a 'low end filtering out machine' to me. Too much tone suck for a bass-specific product for me. Paul McCartney. Anything that has been artificially relic'ed (this obviously excludes Macca).
22. Erm, a bit. You'll probably need the truss rod tweaking a little bit to compensate for the extra tension that you've set up. There may also be some twist across the fingerboard as you've put extra pressure on one side and not the other. If you need a low D and a low E string then I'd recommend getting a thicker 'E' string in place of your B (an extra 5 or 10 thou should do it), but then your nut might need some attention. Hope this helps.
23. Mine came with phosphor bronze strings - in the hot weather they can turn your sweat green, which came as a bit of a surprise. I'm currently using Rotosound flats on mine and love the sound.
24. I learnt all the grade 8 stuff years ago when I was at college, college pulled the funding to actually sit the exam unfortunately, but it was still good to have specific targets in my practice regime ( and it still is TBH). If you take your playing seriously then the Rock school grade 8 is achievable. Incidentally when and where are you taking the exam? I know some people...
25.
Easy - Behringer BD121. Within budget. warms up the tone...all boxes ticked. Keep it off the floor though. Shaker
+1
