1. for a small fee i can infuse the body of your instrument with a hallucinogen of your choice, when yot sweat during a gig the chemical will be absorbed through your freshly opened pores, leaving you free to trip your tits off, hands free, during each and every performance.
2. I picked up a used EBS Unichorus on BC for the price of a new CE3B, and I absolutely love it, might be worth looking out for one of these in the 'for sale' section.
3. i've got an old russian bassballs that i'm not currently using and is really too big for my board. It's been modded so viat the internal trimpots are now mounted on the top of the unit, but everything else remains unaltered. I'm looking for £22 posted to uk mainland. Now sold.
4. sir psycho sexy is the balls, what a line!
5. I know a few people who swear by the Alesis SR16, but not used one myself. If you're not bothered about it being hardware then programs like EZ Drummer are dead simple to use and sound tons better.
6. That's a really sensitive arrangement Stu, nicely done.
7. Thanks for posting this, great tune! Just the thing for a Monday morning, I reckon I'll have a romp through this later on this evening when the kiddies are in bed...
8. Cheers Lozz, I'll look at alternative cabinets.
9. Hi All, I've just swapped my LH1000 for an Ampeg B2RE and I love it. Thing is, instead of the LH1000 delivering 700 odd watts at 8 ohms, I've got the Ampeg putting out just above 200 Watts at 8 ohms. My Cabinet has 4 x 250 Watt drivers (8 ohms I think) and I want to know if there's a way to fool the amp into thinking that it's powering 2 x 500W cabinets at 8ohms, and thereby getting the full 450W out of the Ampeg? Any ideas / warnings / suggestions / cake?
10. i've got a couple of albums somewhere, behind the zappa and prog rock, ya know, since we're sharing.
11.
Practice slapping a note and then popping the octave or hammering on a note from an open string and then popping the octave. Try making up your own little riffs adding some muted notes in. That's how I started learning.
+1 octaves are a great place to start. Make sure that you do it with a 'nome too to keep your timekeeping up - there's nothing worse than a sloppy slapper . Get into percussive 'dead' notes too - they are fundamental to the slap style. Oh, and make sure that you've got THA ONE covered t all times!
12. i've got a hartke hydrive 410 that i'm toying with trading in for a 4ohm cab of some description, viat works really well with a 5 string bass. How well does the 610 stack up at the bottom end (30-40hz)?
13.
I can't remember my exact words but I believe it was something along the lines of 'It is the most hideous thing I've ever let into my house, it should be burned to save humanity'
even without a sunburst finish?

Andy 67

just traded amp heads with andy, and i have to say "what a top bloke". Really clear communication from start to finish and a well looked-after and packaged amp. Recommended bc'er and all round good egg.
15. Loads of people swear by a Shure SM 57 mixed with a DI'd signal, though how practical this is in a live situation I'm not sure. The Beta 57 is more directional (so should reject more background noise like drums and guitars) than the standard SM57, but is more costly. I've had good results with an AKG D112 (kick mic), but that was in the studio. If you just want to run a DI lead out of the front of the amp then you'll just need an XLR lead. Nice and easy.
16.
I'd listened to jazz before, but John Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme' was the first jazz album that really blew me away. I still think he's the boss (closely followed by Miles and Mingus)
+1, Love Supreme is sublime.

Funk Jam

Nice tight slapping there, great punchy tone too, Kudos to you sir.
18. Not really, I'm looking to buy the wife an iPad, so I need to sell some stuff.
19. Hi all, I've currently got an old (mid 70's I think) Kawai 100P sat gathering dust, and as I'm using digital synths now I'm toying with letting it go. The main board has been recapped, but I haven't got the TIM or inclination to tweak the trim pots to retune it. Anyone interested? Kawai 100P info Probably looking for £150ish, it's really heavy so wold need courier or picking up.
20. i once went to a billy sheehan clinic as a younger man and didn't play for 2 days afterwards. Then i strapped on a pair and started on my 3 finger technique. Really slowly.
21. if you can,t find specific drivers for yot yamaha then do a search for 'asio4all', it's a really useful and stable driver that works with loads of different cards. Should help to reduce latency. Looking at your specs i'd look at getting some extra ram too.
22. Yup, Ampeg seems to hit it everytime, particularly the older stuff that seems to be built to higher standards (i.e. not held together with cake).
23. Hayseed Dixie doing "whole lotta Rosie". I wonder if my grandaddy has a still somewhere, might fire up the pickup and head out... [redneck emoticon]
