1. Hi all, I've currently got an old (mid 70's I think) Kawai 100P sat gathering dust, and as I'm using digital synths now I'm toying with letting it go. The main board has been recapped, but I haven't got the TIM or inclination to tweak the trim pots to retune it. Anyone interested? Kawai 100P info Probably looking for £150ish, it's really heavy so wold need courier or picking up.
2. i once went to a billy sheehan clinic as a younger man and didn't play for 2 days afterwards. Then i strapped on a pair and started on my 3 finger technique. Really slowly.
3. if you can,t find specific drivers for yot yamaha then do a search for 'asio4all', it's a really useful and stable driver that works with loads of different cards. Should help to reduce latency. Looking at your specs i'd look at getting some extra ram too.
4. Yup, Ampeg seems to hit it everytime, particularly the older stuff that seems to be built to higher standards (i.e. not held together with cake).
5. Hayseed Dixie doing "whole lotta Rosie". I wonder if my grandaddy has a still somewhere, might fire up the pickup and head out... [redneck emoticon]
6.
Where did you get those Fenders from? Just from waiting around eBay etc etc or did you find a dealer somewhere? I want one!#
wow, +1 for the fenders, they're beautiful. I think you need a Trace rig to go with the Pedulla.
7. Grrrrr, can't get the links to open. Thanks for posting though.
8. Get little badges made in 'Ben Hur'esque font with your member number and BC underneath, to the uninitiated it just looks like a crappy B-movie or something, problematic as we move to the ten thousandth member etc... Hmm, wristband does it then. How about "Make GAS History"?
9.
When people sometimes compliment me on my playing, I hold back a giggle thinking 'you don't know how crap I really am, and how much practice I had to do to cover it up'.
This isn't 'covering it up' - it's growing as a player, and it's the only way this happens. You're on the right track!
10. i've bought and sold stuff on here and never had any problems with anything. It's all gone so well that i'm about to trade heads with a bc'er i've never met via a courier service. Granted you'll get some timewasters everywhere, but there's plenty more on the bay than here
11. bump for this gig, i've only heard the 'sheps' but if the other bands are as good as them then it should be an awesome night.
12. Awwww, don't be unkind Doddy, play nice.
13. I once sat through a seminar on rehearsal techniques (and jolly good it was too). The two guys running it said that most musicians don't stop as soon as a mistake occurs, and so end up 'practicing getting it wrong' more than they practice getting it right. The idea of practicing until you don't get it wrong is a really good one. Think about band practice - how many times do you play a new tune before you get it right? 5, 6, 7? then you get it right. Hooray, once more for luck, then move on. You got it wrong more times than you've got it right - so mathematically you're better at playing it wrong than playing it right. I think that was the upshot of the seminar (I've missed a fair bit though), but it's stuck with me for ten years plus. Cheers, Paul
14. For anyone who's interested there's a couple of pages on this model in the current BGM. Bump.
15. cool, will pm you later when i can use a proper keyboard instead of this phone thing
16. Hi Andy, I've got an LH1000 that is in really good nick but just doesn't have the tone shaping that I'm after. Would you still consider a trade at this point?
17. Looks similar to what Steve Rothery does for Marillon - he's a guitarist though? Don't suppose it matters as long as you get the sound you want though, and to be honest anything that detracts from the sartorial nightmare that is 1960's Australian TV is OK in my book.
18. Just bought an EBS unichorus from Basstard; arrived uber quickly and had really clear communication throughout. He gave me the option of a bank transfer which was absolutely kosher and 100% safe. Top bloke and all round good egg. He obviously looks after his kit too.
19.
Cool man - if you like the Metheny stuff then a natural successor to him were EST - sadly the pianist Esbjorn Sevensson tragically died in 2008 - but one of my fave albums from them is Seven Days of Falling - this song is particularly awesome - check the distorto bass solo towards the end: M
Just bought this album on the strength of the one track. Can't wait to dig a little deeper. "Album of the week" award goes to Giant Steps - simply staggering music.

21. I've got flats on mine, and prefer to use a quality DI. I once had a BBC engineer completely ham-fist it by micing it up with an inappropriate mic. I was told "we don't use DIs". Sounded awful.
22. "This bass has never been gigged, only ever played at home (a smoke free one, not very rock and roll. I know)." Where does this chap live? Baghdad?

24.
...it'll give 'em more time to daydream about all the money they're going to get from extortionate ticket prices. mumblemumblemumble
Yeah, not bought one either. Spent the money on an EBS pedal instead.
