  1. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Agreed. Every single G&L that's been in my hands has been an incredible instrument in its construction and sound. The same cannot be said for Fender.
  3. yeppers. There's definitely a 'sweet spot' to using the 250.
  4. Gold - Prince
  5. I've used the Joyo American Sound on both and it's been useful when used as an amp sim too. The DOD 250 is really good on bass provided you don't go too crazy with the drive, as the more dirt you add, the less bass you get. Just get a cheap loop pedal and you can use any guitar pedal*! *as long as it's got a phase reverse feature just to be safe.
  6. Hanging Around - Stranglers
  7. Pound for a brown (on the bus) - Zappa
  8. I saw an X-ray of a girl passing gas - Butthole Surfers. Double whammy!
  9. Does it know YYP?
  10. Ah, an intermittent fault. They’re my favourite! ☹️
  11. The "Green Naugahyde" album from Primus. I remember catching them on this tour and being a bit underwhelmed by the whole affair. Excellent album though!
  12. Just chop the headstock off, what could possibly go wrong...?
  13. Rotosound Nexus come in standard 4 string gauges and they make a low B as a single (.130”). They are black and also great strings.
  14. it's been a while since I did any recording with serious microphones, but I've and great results in the past with the Sennheiser MD421 or the EV RE20 - there is no proximity effect with this mic, so it can go incredibly close to the cab without becoming boomy.
  15. I really think Amp missed a trick when they released the SCR-DI preamp pedal by not having the mid frequency selector - that (for me) the best bit! Good to see an Ampeg style pre with this feature on board. GLWTS.
  16. The boy with the thorn in his side - Les Smiths
  17. I can see where this would fit musically, but it's not a sound I'd care to make on any sort of regular basis.
  18. Buy cheap, buy twice. Good quality patch cables are a must. I once A/B'ed one of my brother's cheap ones and a George L one - the difference in tone was staggering!
  19. Baby Snakes - Zappa
  20. Great to see some top-flight folk beard-fettling at 1' 35". you don't see it much these days.
  21. Not sure if I like prog or not, I like Rush, Marillion, Tool, Carnivool etc but I don’t like Dream Theater or Genesis and absolutely cannot stand Yes. Am I prog?
  22. This . My main fretless neck has been on 3 different bodies before settling on 'the one'.
  23. The behringer BDI is a clone of the sans amp, so there's no real need to do any more spends. The only real difference between the two is that the sans amp will run off phantom power from the mixer, and the behringer won't.
  24. I've got a couple in my jazz/MM hybrid basses. they're really good for expanding the tonal palette and sound great on their own.
