  1. Fire - RHCP (or Jimi if you prefer).
  2. Drag the waters - Pantera. obviously not fans of his post-Floyd material.
  3. Disco , soul, funk, Motown. Pretty much any track from these genres will give you a great bassline. no point listening to any of the above if you can’t stand listening to them though; that will turn bass playing into a chore.
  4. Sols-brie Hill - Peter Gabriel
  5. and associated musicians, obviously.
  6. Well done Blue!
  7. It's on hiatus at the moment - I bought a replacement battery, but I'm not brave enough to try desoldering the battery socket back onto the logic board, so I'll probably end up sending it away to get fixed. I've had a quote of £60 including registered courier there and back, but haven't done anything about it yet.
  8. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Agreed. Every single G&L that's been in my hands has been an incredible instrument in its construction and sound. The same cannot be said for Fender.
  10. yeppers. There's definitely a 'sweet spot' to using the 250.
  11. Gold - Prince
  12. I've used the Joyo American Sound on both and it's been useful when used as an amp sim too. The DOD 250 is really good on bass provided you don't go too crazy with the drive, as the more dirt you add, the less bass you get. Just get a cheap loop pedal and you can use any guitar pedal*! *as long as it's got a phase reverse feature just to be safe.
  13. Hanging Around - Stranglers
  14. Pound for a brown (on the bus) - Zappa
  15. I saw an X-ray of a girl passing gas - Butthole Surfers. Double whammy!
  16. Does it know YYP?
  17. Ah, an intermittent fault. They’re my favourite! ☹️
  18. The "Green Naugahyde" album from Primus. I remember catching them on this tour and being a bit underwhelmed by the whole affair. Excellent album though!
  19. Just chop the headstock off, what could possibly go wrong...?
  20. Rotosound Nexus come in standard 4 string gauges and they make a low B as a single (.130”). They are black and also great strings.
  21. it's been a while since I did any recording with serious microphones, but I've and great results in the past with the Sennheiser MD421 or the EV RE20 - there is no proximity effect with this mic, so it can go incredibly close to the cab without becoming boomy.
  22. I really think Amp missed a trick when they released the SCR-DI preamp pedal by not having the mid frequency selector - that (for me) the best bit! Good to see an Ampeg style pre with this feature on board. GLWTS.
  23. The boy with the thorn in his side - Les Smiths
  24. I can see where this would fit musically, but it's not a sound I'd care to make on any sort of regular basis.
