All of my favourite 'tallica stuff was done early in their career, but that doesn't mean that I won't listen to newer stuff. A band that's been around as long as Metallica are in the impossible position of either putting out the same sounding record until they call it quits or trying new things and risking alienating their established fanbase. I'd rather have a band that stretches and challenges itself to grow than listen to the same E minor pentatonic riff for the rest of my days. Different strokes and all that.

That looks like a one-stop shop for the majority of us Ampeg fan-boys, but it’s very spendy.

Truly terrible covers of the good and the great

At least it’s recognisable. -
I looked at one in a music shop way back when, but couldn’t get past the comic sans font; didn’t even turn it on.

One of the most accurate covers I've ever heard. Allegedly. -

This. You need some pretty big balls to want to make changes to Leonard Cohen material. -

Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s version of the Springsteen classic ‘born to run’ isn’t the worst, but it is pretty bad. -
Is a SVT Pro 7 supposed to hiss this much?

That was an electrolytic capacitor, it certainly shouldn’t look like that! -
Thank you for your service. 😉

This one from Zappa. Live version again I’m afraid.

Update: bit the bullet and sent it off to be doctored by Gamer Tech in York. It's not back yet but the communications regarding its progress have been clear.

Check out Ned's Atomic Dustbin for lead bass stuff - they had two bassists, one for t'low end and one for t'dusty end.

I’m doing Queen songs at the moment too, but more 70’s ‘flat key’ stuff (somebody to live, bo’ rap, don’t stop me now) just to learn how to read again after the ‘brain drain’ of long covid.

t strictly DISCO but I'm not one to pass up the opportunity to post something from the canon of Frank Zappa. I didn't post the album version 'cos it's just a bit sterile compared to this great live version.

I've always considered this very heavily influenced by Disco... https://youtu.be/Ijk4j-r7qPA

EHX Nano Metal Muff or Ibanez Super Metal Mini?
paul_5 replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Effects
Seriously I do something very similar with my drive units and I've found the DOD 250 to be really great at thickening stuff up. It's a really common design and very similar to the MXR distortion plus (as well as many others), so there's bound to be cheaper clones of it around.- 2 replies
