  1. My current squeeze is a variation on the 903 tube drive - really great tube overdrive. This isn't my video, but should give you a good idea of what it's capable of.
  2. Dunlop dual for me. Tried Schallers but they were a pain in the derrière to use.
  3. That is beautiful. I'm not in the market for another bass, but that is gorgeous.
  4. Bugera Nuke looks like an SVT2 (ahem) tribute amp.
  5. Dumb question - I just use one cab in my rig, so not sure about this - on a 4 pole Neutrik socket/jack could you not use +1 and -1 for one cab and +2 and -2 for the other?
  6. Octave pedal and play everything on the skinnier strings - Love that sound.
  7. And very little afterwards too.
  8. Bootsy Vibes. Who wouldn’t want a bassist showing up with Bootsy Vibes?
  9. Technically yes. You’d need some serious power rated components to do it, but in theory it’s more than possible.
  10. Can of worms..... The best Rat style (sharp, edgy distortion) is the Blowerbox Idiotbox. 2 band EQ, no loss of low end and a really aggressive sound. It'll also do low gain really well too. DHA VT1 are great, but the ones with the EQ are even better.
  11. They're everywhere in solid state gear - common opamps (TL072/ TL074) are JFET based chips, so I would imagine the majority of solid state preamp will have them in.
  12. I reckon #1 is a vintage P and #3 is a modern P, #2 and #4 are solo'ed bridge pups from a J style, and I think #5 is a MM?
  13. Nice! Lovely turret wiring too.
  14. I honestly can't remember the last timeI used mine in anger.
  15. Just tried these on my P, but it's just not the sound I'm after, so moving them on. Cut for a Fender style 4-in-line bass with 34" scale. Strings and silks in excellent condition. Price includes P&P to UK mainland.
  16. Nah, it's not a look that I'd be happy to sport down at the Dog and Duck; what shoes would go with that? In its defence though, as an SX instrument it'll play beautifully.
  17. Sansamp Paradriver is much more versatile as a preamp.
  18. I've got the same pickup added onto 2 of my Jazz basses - really versatile piece of kit.
  19. buy a cheap digital vernier calliper (about £8 or so) from Aldi or Amazon etc, and measure them accurately - with string gauge differences we're talking in thousands of an inch at times, so it's good to have an exact figure.
  20. Excellent choice. EHX make my favourite phaser (small stone) and chorus (small clone), but I’m not really a fan of any of their other stuff.
  21. Shiny shiny shiny boots of leather - Velvet Underground
