  1. The perfect half-way point between a Mutron III and a Lovetone Meatball!

    Cab Riser

    Anyone else seeing this...?
  3. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. /thread.
  4. Yes, something that powerful in an MS60B size would be ideal for me. Until then I’ll keep my MS60B.
  5. Overdrive - (as one might imagine) putting too much signal through part of a circuit - thus overdriving it. Crucially overdrive is dynamic, so the more a player 'digs in', then more dirt you get. Distortion - Constant filth, regardless of player's dynamics. Fuzz - boosts the signal to the extent that the wave is practically 'squared off' instead of a sine wave (for example), it also compresses the signal something crazy.
  6. That bass is a red herring; it’s another filter! 😉
  7. Are you sure about that, I’ve heard some of them…
  8. 30 years in the bathroom - ‘stuffies
  9. If you put the ‘line selector’ effect as the first then whatever you put after that are all controlled by the line selector - it turns everything after it either on or off at the same time.
  10. Two hedgehogs trying to make a third in a bath of warm swarfega.
  11. The back of the pot is just a large, conductive surface area to solder too - in theory you could solder ALL of the ground wires together at the output socket, but it's just less fiddly to have a flat surface to solder to than trying to do it on its side as the socket.
  12. It was a condition of entry to the venue; most places have them. Security were quite insistent about it I recall.
  13. I reckon Airbourne could dep pretty well for AC/DC, and Greets Van Fleet for Led Zep 😉. seriously though, when Robbie left Take That my request for a 20% ticket rebate fell on deaf ears.
  14. Madonna’s Immaculate Collection. A pretty apt description I ‘d say.
  15. I like Jazz, Mrs_5 less so.
  16. have a look at your audio engine - check that you're using the interface you want to.
  17. This might just be me, but I think the glaring difference in the wood would have meant a solid colour. In their defence, SX build quality is amazing, especially given their price point; every SX bass I’ve played has been great.
  18. Jazz basses. I’ve always liked basses with 2 pickups, but always shied away from Fenders in my youth, as I saw them as ‘old people’ instruments. currently 66% of my stable is jazz basses.
  19. Shell’s right though (ymmv), to the untrained eye my unlined fretless has an entirely unmarked board, but along the binding I’ve marked off the feet positions with a small file, and filled the tiny grooves in with silver paint. Ultimately I think punters (and I) would rather have a bass that’s in the same key as the rest of the band than something nice to look at.
  20. A non-starter for me. Tested positive for the Mange (again), so couldn’t do it. The band had to get a dep for their dep.
  21. After two lessons he got a residency and px’ed it against an Ampeg.
