    My fretting hand issues were down to a chronic posture problem, 3 hours of fairly intense erm… manipulation on my shoulder and (mostly) back brought about a release of fluid down my arm and what felt like a new hand. definitely see a professional.

    Zoom MS60B. Small footprint, and more useable sounds than the later B1-4N. I sold my first MS60B to ‘upgrade’ to a B1-4N, then realised that it had fewer synths on it and reverted back.

    IRealPro will do this to a certain extent, but you’ll still need an interface. It’s main purpose is as an interactive Real Book (Jazz standards), but there are loads of free pop libraries if you Google it, I think it’s got a preset II-V-I (major and minor) loop with it as a default. It’ll do tempo and key changes on the fly too.

    My Mk1 MOTU 828 unit still fires up through firewire on my (admittedly obsolete) late 2011 MacBook Pro. I did some multitrack recording with it just the other week and everything worked perfectly. I'm still on High Sierra though (OSX 10.13.6)

    Geddy Lee’s playing on ‘freewill’ is just same as the vocal melody (but down about 4 octaves 😂); it also has a great bass solo!
