  1. Jizzlobber - Faith No More Harder than your husband - Zappa
  2. Is that Paddy’s Ashdown then?
  3. Look interesting. Might have to give that a go.
  4. Let’s be honest, this could be your pedalboard!
  5. More of a slant than a twist! That’s going to look great!
  6. Just measured mine with a digital calliper, and these sizes are correct.
  7. Cards on the table for everyone. Just because you’re not gigging don’t assume that the project has no merit; the benefits to mental health of leaving the house once a week to do something that you love shouldn’t be underestimated. It may be that you all decide to wait for the drummer, and enjoy a weekly meet up and bit of a social, or you get a different drummer in. No good can come from keeping secrets from only some of the band, and I think it’s unfortunate that the drummist has put you in this position.
  8. I’ll measure them when I get home, just on a gig at the moment. 👍🏻
  9. I adore soldering with 60/40, but have switched over to lead free recently. It took a lot of effort initially, but with practice (and a slightly higher temperature) I got there in the end. @neepheid - 2mm!? Are you a plumber? 😄
  10. but they sure sound great! It sounded less good when he played on MJ's 'Beat It'.
  11. For sale: labella low tension flats. Plenty of silks left, cut for 4 in a row ‘fender’ style. pictures to follow, price includes p&p to mainland uk address of your choice.
  12. My experience of ‘wagon wheel’ prior to it being called at my only rehearsal before a few dep gigs was of a slightly disappointing chocolate-esque biscuit.
  13. This. This is the reason we get paid for it; we provide a service to venues so they can draw punters in. Most of the material for covers/function gigs I’ve done has been outside of my usual listening repertoire. If you don’t want to play it, don’t take the gig.
  14. Definitely shield the cavities - that's one of the best, cheapest mods you can make to a bass. series/parallel is a great option for a more punchy, mid-range sound. I've put Wilkinson pickups in all my basses (J, P and MM), and much prefer the sound of them to the 'Duncan Designed' that some of them came with, but it's like a singer' microphone choice - there's just no alternative to testing out as many as you can and finding which ones work best for you.
  15. Awful demo though. edit: the pedal itself sound really good, but that bassist’s timing is erm, ‘loose’, and gets worse as the video goes on.
  16. The biggest snare drum you can find, and an electronic kit to switch between ‘Simmonds’ drum sounds, 808/909 noises and more ‘trad’ drum sounds. this guy has made a 20” x 6” snare that looks perfect!
  17. Good job it’s not a curly lead, could you imagine one of those into a 90 degree jack?!?
  18. in passive guitars and basses the pots will be Linear for tone, and Logarithmic for volume - but they are interchangeable, it's all down to personal preference. Tone pots are LIN because it's generally more useful to have a constant rate of change on your tone i.e. a 1/4 turn takes 25% of the top end off (there's more to it than that, but it's a whole other rabbit hole), whereas the ear perceives changes in volume differently, so using a LOG tapered pot is the norm. Like I said, nothing will explode if you use a different tapered pot, but it's considered more useful to use LIN for tone and LOG for volume.
  19. The’d go for a Jackson Kelly every time.
  20. is that so? I think you might have stood on my head on more than one occasion!
  21. those bügger's grips, for example...
