  1. as far as bass-driven Cure tracks go I respectfully submit this beauty: https://youtu.be/7ZsQdLlvuk4
  2. ...And out come the wolves - Rancid. Fcuking great album!
  3. Another plus point for the MS60B is that you can set it to scroll between preselected patches at the touch of a footswitch - set it to follow your setlist.
  4. This. I still occasionally fake one of these with an octave, filter and fuzz pedal. Normally I plump for my Zoom MS60B; I just think the synth sounds are better than on the later Zooms like the B1-4 or B3N
  5. Kiss with a fist- Florence and the machine.
  6. Agreed - the last 2 Anthrax albums (Worship Music from 2011, and 2016's For All Kings) have been absolute belters!
  7. I think the Celinder for me. The G&L was just a bit too 'thumps' for this track; the pops just didn't POP! The Stingray had the lovely 'tight' sound that they're brilliant for, but it was lacking in low end authority. The Celinder had it all - lots of low end, a bit of a growl, and lovely glassy pops. The 'Ray would probably have suited the track if the bassline had been busier, where too much low end muddies stuff up.
  8. That’s your signal wire - solder it to the top lug of the tone pot. Also, it might be worth soldering a wire from the other lug on your socket to the back of one of the other pots while you’re in there…
  9. I didn't think Newfoundfreedom's cousin was that picky.
  10. I regularly gig (well, used to) with a board full of home-made pedals. My basses are all bitsas, and my rack preamp is a home-made too. This all goes into a shop-bought (shocker) power amp, into a home-made 1x12" cabinet with a tweeter. Dunno what it's cost me over the years, but I'd put money on it being a hell of a lot less than shop-bought stuff!
  11. Great Rat style distortion, you’ll never be worried about cutting through in a mix again; think of it as a chainsaw for your ears, but in a really good way.
  12. Caline Americana pedal - 3 months old with Velcro on the back, works perfectly as it’s only been used a handful of times for recording. Up for sale as I’ve just build an Omnicab simulator. Copy of the Tech 21 California Fender amp simulator that works really well on bass and guitar Price includes uk delivery. NOW SOLD
  13. They look like they need a bloody good wash too.
  14. I’m not completely finished, but I enjoy making them and modding them, so why not? My filter of choice is the chunk systems agent 00Funk, favoured octaver is a stripped down OC-2, and the jury’s still out on fuzz pedals - I’ve narrowed it down to a shortlist of around five…

    I used to have an SVP-PRO. I wish I still did 😢
  16. Are you running this on batteries? With Boss (and most other pedals) the jack is a switching jack, whereby the battery is disconnected unless a jack is plugged into the input - could be that the sound is the power being cut. I know it’s not supposed to mute the signal when switched on, but these are buffered bypass, so the there’ll still be power in the bypass circuit.
  17. When people talk about ‘feel’ it always reminds me of that time that Chuck Berry schooled Keef at rehearsals…
  18. Might have more luck selling this closer to 5th November... Call me crazy, but I thought one of the advantages of a sloping board is that the PSU can be mounted underneath the pedals, and also shoving all of the cables underneath makes it look altogether tidier and more appealing.
  19. I don’t think we’re looking at an Ivor Novello here, are we?
  20. I had one of these as my first 5 string, way back in the early 90s. Loved it, but I kept sliding off the end of the neck; turns out I do NOT do well with headless basses.
  21. Not in front of a festival crowd though...
  22. I turned my 2x10 into a 1x12 plus tweeter. Turned out nice again.
  23. yes, to more gigs where the bassist has a 2x15"!
