I had one of these in the early 2000s - great bass.
These are really playable, not too heavy and active eq to boot. Ultimately the string spacing was a little too tight for my ‘agricultural’ right hand technique.

It’s got this beautiful booklet that strips away the layers of the figure on the front, so I took a punt on it.
It also contained some of the best music I’d heard for a good long while.
Veroboard; there’s only a couple of millimetres between the perfboard and veroboard layouts I had.
might build another that’s tuned slightly higher in the bass and lower in the treble to suit a P bass...

Strong glue and lots of clamps. Clamps everywhere, you can never have too many!!
seriously though, glue and clamp should be fine, unless you just want to scrape the crack out and use wood filler, but I’d glue and clamp.
