If you’ve had both covid vaccinations then you’re already 5G ready, and just need a receiver- provided you’re not wearing a tinfoil hat...

Learn your E minor pentatonic scale, and E blues - that’s what almost every track on that album is based off. They’ll probably ask you about this, so be prepared. E minor pentatonic (5 notes) - E, G, A, B, D, E E Blues: E, F#, G, A, A#, B, C, D, E wouldn’t hurt to be able to do these across 2 octaves, and in a couple of different keys too, just in case. Edit: if you’re playing Bombtrack then you can already play an F# blues scale! don’t sweat it, and the best of British to you!

I decided to spring for an Ms60b, having had one before. I’ve played through a b1-four, but found some of the synths were missing, and it didn’t sound great. I run mine through a blend pedal, so all of my patches are 100% effect and no clean signal at all; and blending and phase problems are sorted out by my looper. It’s perhaps the smallest multi FX on the market, fits well on my board, and sounds good. Prior to this I was experimenting with a line 6 M5, which sounded amazing, but the synths were a bit weak. Everything else about the M5 was great - being able to assign any parameter to the expression pedal and having a dedicated ‘tap tempo’ button is a big plus in my book, but ultimately I was only using about 10% f what it was capable of, and it had a significantly larger footprint than the MS60B.

Pedals for a Small Board (aka your desert island pedals)

If you want small, then a couple of Zoom MS60Bs should cover it! -
That’s just nit-picking though...

Bon Scott comes in a bar or two early on ‘it’s a long way to the top’ - funny thins is, I don’t hear it on every system, only in good quality headphones.

I’ve tried this, but find that when I play live (remember doing that?) I get excited and really dig in, so end up adjusting stuff on the fly! It’s a great way to break the back of it though.

Yeah, then they left the vocal track in. Big mistake.

The Rick-O-Sound uses a switching jack as secondary output, so that when a second jack is plugged in the pickups are split neck - output 1 and bridge - output 2, if there's no jack in the second output then the main mono output just gets both pups in parallel, similar to a standard Jazz bass wiring. That's the only thing about Ricks that I like.

Recently bought this as faulty, but jI W fully with eking after making a replacement daughterboard for the footswitch. comes with all the usual ‘case candy’ - cotton bag, instructions and original box. Based on the Mutron (optical envelope detector), so a lovely vintage filter that will do up and down sweeps.

My thoughts exactly - had one and it was incredibly versatile, but just didn’t scratch my chorus itch. I’m using an EHX Small Clone and I love it. Granted, it’s nowhere near as flexible, but it just sounds right to my ears.
