  1. Beaufort. I’m not into meteorology at all, I just like the word. Beaufort.
  2. Technically the ‘standard’ wasn’t standardised until the mid 1820s, so it’s more George IV than Henry VII. I suppose the corpulent wastrel had the find something to do whilst waiting for his loopy dad to finish on the throne.
  3. I’ve been using EZDrummer since it came out and last month looked at updating my plugin to EZDrummer 2. I downloaded the demo and had a quick play, but it just didn’t seem like there was much to gain, apart from access to newer libraries, f anything, it slowed me down as it had loads of new features that I’ll probably never use!
  4. As regards item 2 on your list, what is your Snap set to in your DAW? could be that it needs to be set to a shorter note value (semiquavers instead of quavers) maybe?
  5. I spend half of my time avoiding the blighters! As you were, good luck in your search.
  6. Cymbals. More room for cymbals - effects pedals of the drum world!
  7. Sounds like the old DHA kit - the input pad control is fairly essential!
  8. I reckon Rush would be the ideal thing to play through it! 😄. I’ll get my coat.
  9. Another FuzzDog pcb Jobbie - nice, compact and comprehensive compressor pedal. Controls for attack, release, threshold and ratio with a ‘bright’ switch and level control. £40 English pounds delivered to a doorstep of your choosing.
  10. sold Set of Thomastik flat wounds, light use on my fretless with silks in good condition.
  11. Sound samples can be had here:
  12. I’ve got multiple ways to connect it, but all of which involve an extra pedal (blend, splitter etc...). The issue I have at the minute is that the old switch has come away from the pcb, and I’m not sure how to get it working again.
  13. Built from a FuzzDog board and boxed in an aluminium case - bass, treble, gain and volume controls - this is about as close to a B15 as I’ve heard in an analogue pedal - lovely beefy bottom end with plenty of gain on tap. built this as I was experimenting with different preamps, but don’t need it any longer.
  14. Hi, does anyone have one of these tuners kicking around? I love mine as it’s got a mahoosive screen, but I’m modding it to true bypass, as they suck tone. Does anyone have one that’s willing to take a picture of the foot switch wiring loom for me? My switch is knackered otherwise I’d do it myself. 😢
  15. Thanks BCers, I managed to download everything last night. I’d tried this before, but the updates that GB does after the installation always failed. it seemed to work last night though, so happy days.
  16. Hi, I’m looking for a download link for an old version of GarageBand - my OS is High Sierra, and the only version on the Apple website is for 10.15 and above. Does anyone know of a download link for an old version that’s compatible with my ageing MacBook Pro? Usually I’d run Protools; but due to lockdown I’m working with new musicians who are all on GB and it would just be easier to import the project instead of getting the guys to export stems etc...
  17. Good job we’re not discussing pedals.... (backs away, whistling nonchalantly....)
  18. I’ve been playing for just under 30 years, and have had less than 10 basses. I still have 3 of them!
  19. Looks like it would be easier to replace the drive knob with a smaller value logarithmic pot - that’ll also reduce the gain, and will give more control over lower drive settings.
  20. Any of these: 12AX7 - gain of 100 12AT7 - gain of 60 12AU7 - gain of 20 because they’re preamp valves they don’t need biasing, and can literally be unplugged from their socket and replaced; they only fit in one way, so knock yourself out!
  21. Look down the neck from the bridge end - if it t looks straight then it’s a case of lowering the saddles on the bridge, if the neck looks bowed then it’s going to need the truss rod tightening. could you post some pictures?
