  1. RBass from Wavea is essential for me - adds ‘heft’ to a DIed bass track. I really rate their SSL buss compressor, and use it on my master outputs pretty much all of the time just to help glue everything together.
  2. Not sure that the video is entirely responsible; certainly looks like it helped though.
  3. Ah, I had one of these as my first bass head. Lovely piece of kit.
  4. Oof, that’s a stinker! Great bassline though.
  5. I Want You Back and ABC by the Jackson 5. Ab is such a lovely key.
  6. I’d be more worried about his soldering skills than damned filthy apes - check out picture no.5. I doubt I’d have him upholstering my soft furnishings either.

I agree fully. The best thing about Ampegs for me is the flexibility in the midrange. I don’t like the original Sansamp BDDI for the same reason, but they do seem to be reasonably popular... 😉
  8. First one I learned was ‘free will’ by Rush - it was in an edition of my brother’s guitar magazine, and the only bass music in the house. Not bad for starters!!
  9. No. I have played for free in the past - mostly charity gigs, but charity gigs often take the p155, so I don’t anymore.
  10. I’ve just replaced this with an EQD Cloven Hoof, so am moving it on after years of faithful, filthy service. Usual volume, tone and drive controls with the added bonus of switching between LED and silicon clipping diodes, and the volume boost associated with different diodes. significantly smaller footprint and the Coloursound unit, and a darn site cheaper too!! velcro underneath From when it was on my board. price includes delivery to mainland UK addresses.
  11. IIRC there’s only 6 or 7 components that could fry, so should be a relatively easy fix
  12. Indeed; my brother-in-law (who is dyslexic) and my friend from music college (who is Dyscalculic) would argue this point at length.
  13. Björk, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Aretha Franklin for me.
  14. Yep. IMO the Paradriver is the best thing Tech21 has ever made.
  15. Sage advice for most situations.
  16. Or maybe they grow, up realise that they're wasting their lives and have a good, long look at themselves in the mirror before deciding to be better people. Oh, right, I think I misinterpreted your post...
  17. A Rickenbacker bass. They look AMAZING and sound superb, but I've played a few (borrowed various ones for studio sessions) and never found one that was anywhere near comfortable enough to drop £1500 on one.
