  1. Just got this little beauty* from a Facebook seller close to where I work; it used to be a Roland bass combo but has been decapitated and now sports a pair of EBS drivers. Just the thing for storing until gigs start happening again! *beauty is a lie.
  2. The D string looks a bit squiffy too, the strings should at least be parallel on the headstock! If that were mine then I’d send it back from whence it came.
  3. You can do a mock up online using the Kisekae’s flash app, I use it when making aesthetic choices about pickguards and builds - it’s free too!! https://tctwp.com/kisekae/ scroll down until you see the body shape you wand and take it from there.
  4. The NW Guitars necks are amazing!! I’ve got a PJ bass with one of their Jazz necks that is just lovely. It’s currently up for sale, but honestly, I’m not bothered if it doesn’t sell!!
  5. Really? She must have had a tough life, cos she’s only 5 foot 2 now!
  6. “If you don’t know me by now” Simply Red. seriously though, I want REM’s ‘Electrolyte’ as I go through the curtain / get fired into space, the whole “I’m not scared, I’m outta here” at the end should see me right
  7. Built another one of these for a project that is unlikely to see the light of day so I might as well sell it. clone of the chunk systems filter with controls for pitch, sweep and squelch, also one for adding in a little bit of dirt (up to lots of dirt!). This little unit will do up sweeps as well as down, so it’s a really versatile filter tuned specifically for bass.
  8. *NOW SOLD* Superb Leslie cabinet emulator, plus polyphonic octaver up and down one octave. Footswitchable between fast and slow speed, expression pedal input for controlling speeds in real time, blendable between bass driver and tweeter. This little box also has a built In overdrive for crunchier sounds, so it’ll do loads of different sounds. Cabinet emulation is optional, so if you just want a wobbly sound to put into a DAW cab simulator then that’s possible too comes with original box and instructions. Price reduced to £40 *SOLD*
  9. I love the sound of the cobalts especially on my P bass, but they’re higher tension than round wounds, so they’re a bit tougher to play.

True. The NE5534 is a dual opamp, so isn't a pin-for-pin replacement either. The most common single opamp ICs that will drop straight into that socket and perform as it should are the TL071 (or TL061 or TL081 are pin-for-pin replacement too) or the good old LM741, which I love in overdrive/distortion pedals. The 741 gets a lot of stick on electronics forums from Hi-fi buffs, as it's old and noisy in comparison to newer ICs, but that's precisely why it sounds so darn good in O/D units!
  11. RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magic. Full of fosters and vinegar with a lovely loose approach to the production. I miss this in Their later stuff ☹️
  12. Another vote here for Grado headphones; awesome is indeed the correct term.
  13. Nice, clean bit of routing that, good work!
  14. This is the standard way to wire a 4x10” cabinet, so you’re effectively just putting a box around each of the drivers.
  15. I tried the Harley Benton when I was looking for a pedal board preamp. The eq and drive were really useful, the compressor wasn’t really that great (but still useful at certain settings) but my passive basses kept overdriving the input stage so I returned it. Admittedly I play really hard, and have fairly hot pickups, but nothing that any other pedal pre (sansamp, MXR etc) hasn’t been able to deal with. Eventually I went for a second hand Dave Hall VT1 eq and love it; line in, headphone, 1/4 and xlr outs with a separate level control for each.
  16. I really like that, not just how it looks, but the fact that it’s made of unconventional material. Good work sir, and welcome to BC.
  17. Can I suggest ‘plan B’? The ‘sweet spot’ for a MM is between the 2 pups on a Jazz. I put a MM humbucker in my Jazzes and there’s just enough room for all 3 at once. It’ll require some work on the scratch plate too, and either a selector switch or an extra volume pot, but it’s well worth doing.
  18. Not as impressive as EZdrummer - that thing actually sounds like a real drummer, not convinced by this though. It will play perfectly in time, remember the bassline between sessions, is easily controlled and doesn’t make inappropriate jokes. It’ll never catch on.
