  1. I really rate Wilkinson stuff; got their pups on all of my basses, I think I’ve got a couple of their bridges too.
  2. Indeed, although creativity *and* aesthetics is even more awesome!
  3. Built a P bass, sold 4 pedals and a preamp, that’s at least a score draw...
  4. I love the googly eyes on the tuners! Not too bothered about the stars though...
  5. Best purchase: EB Cobalt flats. Worst purchase: not really had one (yet)
  6. Primus. All of it, masters of the ostinato. Check out Jon the Fisherman: Alright, it’s not ‘simplest’ of basslines, but it’s a corker!
  7. Is this affiliated with ‘MDP’ by any chance?
  8. Loud, sweaty & lots of fun. Local gig last night at a venue we play semi-regularly, so lots of connection with the audience. Dancing from the word go, which even the owner was impressed with. All in all a good do!!
  9. Roundwounds, low action and a pick is where I’d start.
  10. Double bass sounds can be had by muting the strings with the edge of your picking hand and plucking with your thumb - helps if you roll the tone off too!!
  11. TC electronic Nether octaver in excellent condition. Tracks well with independent level controls for clean signal, -1 and -2 octaves. Don’t know if I’ve still got the box but I’ll have a look for it. now sold
  12. SOLD Up for grabs is my DHA VT2 DI EQ. Lovely 2 channel valve pre/overdrive unit that I’m just not using and haven’t for a while. 2 independent drive channels with 3 band eq and a nice quiet DI as well as separate output to your amp. I’ve used it for recording and as a drive unit and it’s a great sounding piece of kit. Thee’s an extra hole in the side where I moved the power socket when my board got too crowded, but I have since moved it back. I can’t guarantee that I can find the power supply, but any negative tip 9-12v supply that delivers over 500mA will do the trick, and can be had for about a tenner. SOLD
  13. The ‘not very well hidden’ gem that is the Behringer BDI21. Cheap as chips and punching well above its weight.
  14. Personally I’d recommend the EHX Small Stone, I had the MXR and just found the EHX to be more ‘phasey’. They are 2 completely different circuits though, so I’d try before you buy.
  15. Nux Roctary will do rotary cab (foot switchable fast/slow), polyphonic octave up and down and overdrive. Great for Zeppelin’s ‘Heartbreaker’ style tones plus a whole raft of FB other stuff. unit comes with original box and instructions (these are well worth a read, as there’s loads of ‘hidden features’ on these). also useful as a buffered splitter for pedalboard routing.
