Beware Vintage (brand) instruments. Not that there's anything really wrong with them (perfectly decent Wilkinson hardware) but the neck pocket isn't "standard" Fender sized.
This could very well be in one of the holiday camps though as so many of them are
Yup - Butlins. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/bigweekends/rb2017/
As an old git, to who all this feedback malarkey is a recent, eBay inspired thing, I'd say that it isn't one's right, having sold something, to expect or demand feedback, praise, or whatever. If you offer an item for sale and someone buys it and doesn't ask for their money back, that' the end of it. You have no right to a pat on the back. If you get one, it's a bonus. You have taken their money, after all. It isn't as if you gave them a present. The same applies if you buy from someone. You pay them for an item they own. It's a fair exchange. Praise and stroking isn't part of the deal.
It's nothing to do with praise or stroking or a pat on the back. It's about giving others in the community an idea of the kind of ride to expect when you (potentially) enter into a deal with a total stranger, with basically no form of redress should things go awry.

Not used them myself, but I do use rehearsal rooms in Stevenage who use Mal for all of their "running repairs" and speak well of him.
I had a L2000 Tribute for about a year. Wonderfully versatile tonally, well built
An L2000 Trinute is the only G&L I've had my hands on. I found all the knobs & switches confusing, and the frets were awful
I have the same with one of mine but the other is fine, both are the same age
Me too...
Nope, plug in failed to load, meaning no video is visible.
Is this in the app, or your normal broswer? Do you have Flash installed?

Why are music stands not acceptable in guitar bands?
barkin replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
I don't think I've ever seen a pro band with music stands / tablets etc on stage.
I recall seeing video of Bruce Springsteen (possibly on Youtube, I can't remember) doing some big stadium gig, where a quick snip of footage shows that what appears to be a monitor at front of stage is, in fact, an autocue with scrolling lyrics... -
I'm using a Kindle Fire, and embedded YouTube videos (have always) take me to a blank page. :-(
The Silk browser doesn't support Flash. I installed Dolphin browser, and installed Flash. Sorted You'll need to get the .apk's from elsewhere though - they're not in the Amazon app store.

Yamaha BB1024 -- Zoom B3 -- Hartke LH500 -- Barefaced Compact. Loud 'n' lush.
I had a Zoom b3 and sold it because I found it too fiddly and overwhelming to get set up as a first time effects user. Too many options... Laptop needed for setup
???

Van Morrison moon dance - ever REALLY listened to it ?
barkin replied to Wonky2's topic in General Discussion
Ok, so what's the problem with it?
Nothing. A few blokes on a forum don't like it, 'tis all. /shrug/ -
Agreed, I think the problem is a lot of bass players think compression is an effect. It's not. Blue
It can be.
Maybe yours is different to mine as my cabs have a speakon and jack on the back but they are both inputs so you cant link them together.
Sure you can. They're both inputs, in that connecting your amp to either will work. They'll also be connected together in parallel so, no matter which one is connected to the amp, the other one can be used to Daisy chain to another cab.
Hello BC. Just wondering how I would know the difference between a Tanglewood Overwater Bass, and a erm! Overwater bass. Cheers
Mine says "Overwater by Tanglewood Guitar Group UK" on the back of the headstock.
Agree, good call Mick, would be nice to see the BDI21 in this.
Hoping to get there. If I do, I'll bring a BDI21 along.
I have some Superlux 681 Evos and they're great.
Me too. No complaints with the sound, but I find them extremely uncomfortable.

My bad. I wrote: "painted headstock, plastic nut, 21 fret neck and chrome hardware all suggests a 2 to me (corrections welcome)" ...I meant 1, not 2. Yup, 32's a shortie. Well, shorter than regular 34 inch anyway... You have a 1982 Concord 1.
-
Where did you put the "serial" number? It's not really a serial number, it's more of a date of manufacture/production run/batch number. The 'serial' numbers aren't always unique to a single instrument, and the 2 at the start suggests it was made in 1982. The painted headstock, plastic nut, 21 fret neck and chrome hardware all suggests a 2 to me (corrections welcome) Are you sure it's not a shortie - what's the distance from nut to 12th fret?

Some info on 'em at http://www.westone.info/concord1bass.html
Regarding the cab, how tough is the tolex on these?
Not 100 percent sure, but I think a 'tuff-cab' kinda finish is standard on the Big Twin.
-
Is it a Concord 2? Can't really see on my phone screen. I thought only the Concord 1 (short scale, made from 82-84-ish) had the painted headstock.

Just confirmed on BBC news.
