Get around the too bright issue by spending less And sound to light flashing stuff just looks like cheesy '70's disco IMO.

In a simiar situation to the OP, I recently bought a couple of LED PAR56's - the Thomann (Stairville) cheapie ~30 quid each 151 LED ones. While I'm sure there are better lights out there, they're fine for our needs, and a big improvement on repositioning the spotlight that normally points at the dartbaord in the Rat & Parrot. I just have them fading between colours, and leave 'em to it. Gonna get another couple any day now.

There's been a few Tanglewaters for sale here recently. Check out the comments in the For Sale threads. I've a Classic J, which I really like. A lot of bass for the money, IMO.

It's ages since I used it, but IIRC you needed to install the LAME MP3 encoder separately to enable Audacity to do this.

You could reduce the weight of the combo by removing the head and putting it in a 2U sleeve thingy. Perhaps.

Dunno how Barefaced do it, but I refinished a tatty old guitar combo (tolex ripped/missing) with Tufcab and a roller. The end result was very similar.

[/quote] Likewise, for several years I used a 15' Acoustic cab - rated 125W IIRC - with various amps capable of much more. Never had a problem - just use your ears, and turn stuff down if it sounds bad.
