  1. Interesting, but not really relevant to the specific point that I was responding to.
  2. I'm sure that's often the case, but it needn't be. London 2012, for example.
  3. That's exactly how I saw it too.
  4. Ah, I thought the markings were already on the neck, and not that you'd added them !
  5. No, your post makes perfect sense. Apologies if I appeared to suggest otherwise. I was simply observing that the oft quoted mantra of "righty tighty, lefty loosey" is ambiguous, as evidenced by the fact that it needs additional words to clarify exactly what it means... If the markings in the original post had instead used an anti-clockwise arrow for loosen, instead of a left pointing arrow, and a clockwise symbol instead of the right pointing arrow, it's immediately obvious and unambiguous.
  6. Not really, because it needs a qualifier (the reference to 12 o'clock) in order for it to be unambiguous. Sayiing "anti/clockwise", and marking as such, would avoid that ambiguity.
  7. Well those markings are as good as useless. Does the top of the adjuster need to go right (clockwise) to tighten, or the bottom of the adjuster go right (anti clockwise)? I'd assume it's a normal right-hand thread, and clockwise would tighten it. If they're going to bother with markings, why not use markings that're meaningful ? 🙄
  8. Topic headings appear bold if the viewer hasn't rread the latest post in that topic. If you don't see it as bold, doesn't mean others don't either. Or have I misunderstood you ?
  9. Same for me.
  10. And the 4ohm 210 will get 2x the power of the 8ohm 110, so it'd be distributed equally across the 3 drivers.
  11. I used to have a Klystron 250 (or maybe 200?). I believe the Klystron's were forerunners to the ABM series?
  12. I just hang the front 2 amp feet over the front of the cab, while the rear feet stay say on the top.
  13. It wasn't me made the sweeping "modern music..." assertion...
  14. Eh? There's loads of new, refreshing, innovative original stuff out there. You might not find it on R1, but...
  15. I don't have an Ashdown amp now, but when I did I just twiddled stuff 'til it sounded good to my ears, and ignored the needle...
  16. As we're talking about the signal being sent to the cab, does it matter if any distortion is from an overdriven amp or a pedal? I suspect not.
  17. The original 1x15 Compact was discontinued when the Gen3 cabs came along. Still got mine, and it ain't going anywhere.
  18. If it's in the USA some random sockets won't work, some switches won't do anything, and some will work the wrong way around.
  19. Crikey, is that what they go for these days?
  20. Wanna borrow my glasses...?
  21. Factory reset ?
  22. Old, heavy, outdated thing that nobody wants? That'll be me...
  23. Used gen1 Barefaced Compact. 11kg. Job done.
  24. I've not given a thought to any other bass since I got a Yam BB1024, some 7 or 8 years ago I guess. Not really brand loyalty though - it's just so bloody good
