  1. 3U rack bag, bought from here a few weeks ago but things changed and I no longer need it.

Hope Dave doesn't mind me using his ad.

It's not been used since I got it - literally taken out of the box and parked under the stairs.

Collect from Cambridge-ish for a tenner (or I could possibly deliver if you're thereabouts, as I travel around a bit) or 15 quid delivered to your door. Sale proceeds to the Basschat coffers.

    cheers,

  2. Laptop running - B9 turned off - Librarian not running.
Connect adaptor to PC & B9, and switch B9 on.
Let PC go through the "USB thingy detected" etc rigmarole.
Start the Librarian software. USB was already selected in the midi menu.

Hit 'read all' (or whatever it is - typing this from memory) and bingo!

Actually, the first time I did this I got a 'device timeouted' error as it read through the patches. The spelling suggests it's from the adaptor driver rather than a Windoze error message, but I hit 'read all' again and it worked fine and has done since.

  3. Well, working on the basis that a cheap lead isn't very cheap if it doesn't work, I splashed out and bought one for just under a tenner today!

It's not branded, but has "model A03FK" printed on it. A quick Google suggests that it's probably the same as ones sold under the brand names Prosound & Mistar...and loads more I would think.

Worked straight off, no timeout errors etc (WinXP) so I'm a happy bunny.

Next to try - running the Librarian software under Wine...

  4. Check back earlier in this thread. IIRC a couple of others had the same problem, while somebody bought an M-Audio lead that works...I think.

Not got around to hooking it up to my PC yet. The only real benefit to that AFAICS would be if I could store a backup copy of my patches that I could reload into the B9 if it decides to throw a wobbly and loses its memory. Could I do that?

If the music gods stopped music production dead in its tracks, so there was NO MORE MUSIC being produced at all, would it matter to you?

Would the immense music catalogue that currently exists be enough for you to browse, discover and enjoy for the rest of your natural life? Or is new music very important to you? Why? Etc.

I don't think it'd matter to me. If I've not heard it before, then it's new music (to me) regardless of when it was born.

  6. FWIW I don't think it is (your ears) either.

I first heard it 'round a mates, and assumed it was just his crappy "hi-fi", but I've listened to it on a couple of known quantities since (my home hi-fi, and through headphones on my Sansa Fuze) and it sounds a bit dull and lifeless to me.

    Unless it's my ears too...

The Aggie driver is no 3012; it would take at least two of them to match its output.

Sorry if I'm being thick, but...2 of what to match the output of what ? I think you're saying you need 2 of the Aggie drivers to match the output of the 3012, but if you could clarify...?

There's one in the For Sale section as we speak
