  1. I know Ash. If you want to get in touch, give me a shout.
  2. I like an amp to make a sound that I like. I don't care what's inside the box, or what the specs say.
  3. I bought a can of Servisol about 10 years ago. I reckon it'll see me out. (Likewise the bottle of Ax Wax...)
  4. I came sooo close, but I've already got one and couldn't convince myself that I need two !
  5. One of the EQ sliders? (Not in circuit unless the EQ switch is on) ??
  6. If it works for you, do it. No approval required
  7. What Jack said. The Dominator, and Dominator Bass are the same amp with a different speaker. 12" in the Dominator, 15" in the Dominator Bass. There's also the Power Musette mk2, which is again basically the same amp, but fitted with a different (dual cone?) speaker that was supposedly better suited to keys. I had a PM mk2 - only sold it because, to get that nice valve break-up, it had to be somewhat cranked, which was stupid loud...
  8. FWIW I've an old (70's?) Carlsbro 60W head. I doubt it was designed as a bass amp, but I used it as my main amp for bass through most of the '80's. Still sounds nice, and more than loud enough for most pub-type gigs.
  9. Those numbers (97/100dB) are sensitivity figures. Not output - max. SPL. They don't tell you how much juice you can feed it, before it runs out of excursion and farts out.

    Zoom R16 help.

Well you can certainly record and playback using the R16 standalone. Whether or not it's usable for mixing will depend on quite how much, and what, you want to do, mainly because the small LCD screen is fiddly, at best. IMO, YMMV etc. Download the user manual - see what you reckon ? P.S. it's a fantastic bit of kit - wouldn't be without mine.
  11. I've a black V4, and wanted to swap the white scratchpad for a black one. Got a used one, that apparently came from another V4, and it's different - screwhole spacing/position, neck cut out etc. Not massively different, and can doubtless be made to fit, but it's not identical to the original.
  12. At a very primitive level, I've used a Zoom b9 through my bass rig...
  13. But do you know that the location (or administrative address etc) of your service providers POP, that you were connected to at that time, wasn't there? IMO it's one of those things that developers see as "k3wl", but in reality it's pretty pointless.
  14. I don't think it's buggy. I reckon it's working exactly as intended. Trouble is, "as intended" isn't what users expect, or very useful.
  15. Zźzzzzzzzzzzzz
  16. Amp underhang! Aaaargh! That looks tidy.
  17. Not mine, they didn't. Outside of the 12 month warranty period, they weren't interested.
  18. How urgent is this? I've a Barefaced Compact (that might be for sale), but I've a family bereavement to deal with first.
  19. My amp does 500W into a 4 Ohm load. 350W for an 8 Ohm load. Adding an 8 Ohm dummy load would mean 250W into an 8 Ohm speaker (<350W) and 250W into the dummy load, serving no useful purpose. Or something.
  20. Impedence and resistance aren't the same thing.
  21. Doesn't matter. Whatever space you're allocated, it's always a bit too small. The overspill from under the stairs resides in the living room, conservatory and spare bedroom. And the car boot. And a mates house & garage....
  22. The proper place - under the stairs.
  23. And that's exactly why I love 'em.
  24. I noticed a couple of weeks back that one of my Hercules stands has developed sticky handle syndrome. They haven't replied to my email...
