1. Man, I just keep on coming back to this beauty.....just about every detail of this bass from the split block inlays and binding to the amazing tobacco burst over the flamed maple body is sublime.....even though it's not my choice shape of bass, this is one sexy muthafunker. I wish I had the readies to grab this! Best of luck with it dude.
  2. I had a completely unheard of Tanglewood which I ended up selling to Carlos in Spain and I've regretted it ever since. I tried to buy it back but it's somewhere else in Europe now, but that sold for around £350 (IIRC) and was probably worth triple that in terms of materials and build quality; certainly stood up to any Warwicks, Spectors or other mid/mid-high range basses I've tried. It's been upgraded with better electronics since and now it sounds utterly amazing. One day, it will be mine again GLWTS!
  3. Just out of idle curiosity, what trades are you interested in on this? Not that I have any trade bait, but someone else might?
  4. Recently watched a support band playing at The Finsbury in London where the singer was rocking a stunning Spector; I asked him after the show what one it was because it had an awesome tone; 'Actually, it's a Tanglewood Bassmaster Funk' he said. Colour me surprised. If I wasn't selling basses to raise funds myself, I'd buy this in an instant - you are talking a whole LOT of bang for your buck - at £170 you can't possibly go wrong!

  6.
What a gorgeous Jazz. I would be scared of dinging it!
Speaking of being scared of dinging it.....I've just seen your incredible Waghorn....though I'm more of a traditional bass shape kind of guy, that thing is a piece of sheer and utter beauty. Kind of wish I had £2K to take it off your hands!
  7. Thanks for the interest all; PM's replied to - sorry for the delay!
  8. Go on Barrie, grab it and if you don't like it, I'll buy it off you in 6 months!
  9. I'd wager that most people have never heard of Blade before (though probably have heard of founder Gary Levinson), but they're mighty fine instruments!
  10. Wow. Never seen a blade bass before but my guitarist has a couple of blade guitars he plays and their tone is amazing. The built quality is also pretty amazing ; I guess the basses follow suite? Good luck with the sale, that is a stunning looking bass!
  11.
What nut width is it? I seem to remember it's an 'in-between' width of around 1.625" (42mm). If it was a slinky J width of 1.50" I'd be seriously interested in one of these!
Having watched a video of Chuck talking about these basses, I think it's a fairly narrow width one?
  12.
can you ship to France?
Salut! Sorry, I should have said in my original posting, I'm happy to courier to anywhere at buyers expense. From previous shipments with Interparcel, a hardcase and bass would be around £30 (possibly more with extended insurance), though it's been a while so not sure on that price - if you'd like an accurate quote, please feel free to PM me with address and contact number and I'll find out for you.
  13. Sweet mother of god, I wish I had any sort of money for that. Good luck with the sale! Edit: I meant to say that this really reminds me of the construction of my Louis Johnson bass; there's something about the Japanese luthiers that make amazingly crafted basses! I would LOVE to try/own one of these.
  14.
Sad face: let me know if you need the box I have to ship it in.
Thanks Dougal, yeah.... Fortune is not on my side it would seem. First my car breaks and costs a small fortune to fix, now I'm losing my job; hence the very regrettable sale This bass is amazing and if it weren't a need for urgent cash, I'd be keeping it for sure. P.s. happy to ship internationally at buyers expense.

ACG don't need much introduction on here, but this bass has an amazing variety of sounds thanks to the ACG pickups and J-Retro pre-amp. Now selling this to fund an Xotic bass that I have my eye on. Bass is located in Kent, (TN15) but can be in Woking, or London if that helps. Buyer pays shipping. I welcome any questions or any try-outs. Thanks for looking!
  16.
I can't afford the bass just now but enjoying "Wilderness Blues" all the morning. I can't stop playing this song on and on. What a great song and bass tone. Good luck with the sale mate
Thanks man, glad you're enjoying the tune. Seems that Wilderness Blues is getting a lot of BC love Edit: Also, for anyone interested, the tone is straight from the bass, no effects, flat EQ, just a small bit of compression from the desk.
  17. Bumparoo for the blue velour case!
  18.
would love this but waiting to sell mine first
What are you selling?, purely out of curiosity. Need to shift this within a couple of weeks, so it could all work out nicely?
  19.
nice footwork ... on the video
Haha, thanks man. Bump for some more pics, look at that electric blue velour case! Sexual!!
  20. Bump - will add pics of bass and case today.
  21.
Well have a bump for a cracking band! Loved the videos, very professional as is the band. Really enjoyed the 3 songs as well, especially Wilderness Blues!
Haha, thanks man! Really appreciate the props I can certainly recommend the videographer for the videos; great guy and fun to work with. We're looking to spread our wings from London and South East, so if you know of any good venues/nights we could get involved with up your way, let me know!
  22. Bass now withdrawn, thanks for interest all.

Recently bought an ACG J Type from Dougal and was extremely happy with the whole transaction. Good comms and a fast turnaround on the whole deal. Great guy to deal with and an asset to the forums. Cheers Dougal!
