  1. I have to resist the urge to complete my collection 😭
  2. Just picked up the Chromatron from a friend last week. I think I like the symmetry of this board more than anything 😂
  3. I'm leaning towards voodoo... still a great pedal though.
  4. I tried using it at higher gain about an hour ago and I think there was slightly less compression that at 9V, not something you would notice in a band situation. I also haven't noticed any difference in where it starts to break up or the variation at lower settings, between the two voltages.
  5. When I was playing it last night I had the drive set to about 3 o'clock, so not pushing it much at all. I will try it at higher gain levels and see if I hear a difference then. I do remember at high settings it sounded very compressed at 9V. Maybe 18V will make a difference there.
  6. I got a Fulltone OCD last week, and its a great "transparent" overdrive, though also has a nice mid-push with the HP switch. It runs at 9V and 18V, so I got an adapter because every forum says that running at 18V is better than 9V (more headroom, more dynamics etc). I AB'd it at both voltages and honestly I can't hear or feel much difference. Maybe a tiny bit more top end/high-mids. Are my ears dumb or is it just another of those pedal myths?
  7. Yeah, I think being able to hear every tiny detail makes every mistake feel huge. It was also very bright, which is not the kind of tone I like. I mentioned that to the guitarist and he says his sound is the same and he usually asks the sound engineer to roll off some of the top end. I also think it was partly because I haven't played with this band in 3/4 years and all the members are very experienced and top notch musicians. I'm not likely to get the opportunity to get used to IEMs as I'm not with any band full time, and most don't have the facility for them.
  8. I used in-ears for the first time in a long time last night. The sound was obviously much clearer than using a floor monitor, but I found myself feeling really self-conscious and less able to get into the music. Anyone else had this experience?
  9. Bought this for a particular pedal but that sale fell through. Never even plugged in and in its original box. Will work for vintage Boss pedals that require an ACA power supply, or any or 12V pedal. Price includes postage to mainland UK.
  10. It's by far the best octave I've used or heard. It tracks really well down to around G/F#, the tones available are great, and having the option to solo the octave signal is very cool. I also have the mk iii, which is even better because you can control the levels of the dry and octave signal independently, plus you have the 'Tim Tuning' switch. However, they are very difficult to find secondhand, probably because they are so good, and Spencer was off the grid with mental health issues for about 4 months and is currently finishing back orders. He is getting back into it but no indication as to when he's going to be taking new orders.
  11. Probably the best bass overdrive out there IMHO. GLWTS
  12. I was playing around with overdrive order and put together this mini board. I'm kind of falling in love with stacking gain stages at the moment. The Morning Glory is a light overdrive, which works well for that crappy early 2000s indie sound (one band I play with does a lot of that kind of thing). Then the Plumes is a midrange distortion for something more full on. And they stack very nicely. The Octabvre and the Proton are ever present.
  13. Love the functionality and portability of that board 😍 how does the OC-2 sound coming after the filter? Would that not throw off the tracking?
  14. I'm selling my Vintera Mustang, bought new back in March and gigged 2-3 times plus some home use. It's in great condition apart from a tiny crack/imperfection in the paint at the neck joint (pictured). I've replaced the pickguard, added copper shielding, upgraded to a Nordstrand pickup, a Hipshot Xtender and darkened the fretboard with lemon oil. I will include the original pickguard (white pearloid) in the sale. You can also have the original pickup if you really want! Comes in a Fender gigbag and will be well packed. Includes postage to mainland UK only. All other locations at buyer's expense. Full mod details can found here. Selling as a friend has given me a great deal on a secondhand Nordstrand Acinonyx.
  15. Only a couple of small changes. I've swapped out the original Octabvre with the mk 3, and swapped the Morning Glory for the Darkglass Microtubes B3K (built by Spencer Doran of 3 Leaf Audio). After seeing some of the cabling on other people's boards, I've tidied that up a bit as well.
  16. Love these 😍 at that price it'll be gone in no time!
  17. All versions of the Octabvre are amazing IMHO, but they almost never come up second hand, and the mk3 is currently unavailable as Spencer Doran (mr 3leaf) was having some mental health issues and not building. He's starting to build again but there's no indication as to when anything will be available. The EHX POG is great as well, plus you get an octave up. Heard good things about the MXR bass octave deluxe too.
  18. That was where I ordered mine. I wonder if they sold more than they actually received? Spencer put an announcement on his website in June saying he is getting back into building pedals, but there hasn't been any update sinces. I'm holding out for a Doom 2.
  19. Mine was the 3 Leaf Audio Octabvre (mk 1). Until I got the Octabvre mk 3. The Malekko B:Assmaster fuzz pedal. Absolutely love it.
  20. I don't even have enough for one at their current prices 😭
