  1. Bass Blasters are pretty hard to come by these days! Are they worth the hype?
  2. I've played SS exclusively for almost 10 years now, and I've always used 30" scale strings. LaBella make a special Mustang set for through-body stringing, which I guess are similar to 32" scale strings. In terms of winding round the post, it doesn't matter too much with the D and G, but make sure that only the narrower part at the top of the string (where the silk is/would be) goes around the post for the E and A.
  3. That's some impressive Tetris-iing!!
  4. bought a 3Leaf Octave Mini. Posted very quickly and arrived the next day. Quick replies to messages. Easy deal!
  5. I've been curious about Atelier Z for a while. People talk very highly of them, I'd love to play one. I like the look of this one but I have an aversion to mustangs with bridge pickups. Plus I'm low key saving myself for a Wilcock 4P-51 (once the wedding is paid for).
  6. Not after a gig but I'd had three school shows and a parents evening that week so I was definitely knackered 😅
  7. A 4p-51 is on my list, but alas I have a wedding to pay for. GLWTS
  8. No reason other than its particularly good pic of my Wilcock Mullarkey on the couch.
  9. Something to consider is that the 2 One10s will be taller, so the speaker will be nearer your ears than the Midget. Of course if you don't like the tone it doesn't matter, but it will likely sound and/or feel louder.
  10. Does the colour of the tape match the colour of the pedal?
  11. I seem to remember my JMJ came with a set of Fender flats and they fitted fine. They were pre-installed so I couldn't tell you exactly which ones they were.
  12. how's the CMC Prototype? Been tempted but one for ages.
  13. it would be her first pedal... Also, I believe this came in between the Mk 1 and Mk 2 as a more 'conventional' octave pedal, without the solo octave function.
  14. If I wasn't planning a wedding right now...
  15. That has happened before, but it also happens when I'm at home just plugged into my amp. I re-wired my board so every pedal has isolated power and no noise so far 🤞
  16. I have not tried it with a separate supply. I will try it, but its very unpredictable when it happens. I have also noticed I've wired some of the the pedals from the distributer (not isolated), so I'll rewire them to an isolater and see if that stops the sound. Cheers!
  17. I thought it was a power thing. I'm using the Gigrig power setup. The tuner is connected to a high power adapter (needs 300mA), which is connected to the Distributer. This is how Gigrig recommends you wire it up.
  18. In as new condition, I think I've only gigged it a couple of times. Comes with the original box and extras. Would consider a trade/part-X for an interesting octave pedal. £5 postage to mainland UK. Poison Noises The Crook v.1 - £100 Fulltone OCD clone, but with bass control

  19. I have a Walrus Audio Canvas tuner on my board. Works perfectly well 90% of the time, except every now and again when I engage it to tune then disengage it, there is a high pitched tone when it unmutes. The noise goes away if I stamp/kick it (not the foot switch, literally stamp on the enclosure). Anyone with a background in electronics know what's going on? L
  20. My band are playing the Edinburgh Blues and Jazz Fest next week for any local BC'ers: https://www.ejbf.co.uk/artist/flam
  21. I used a Mesa D800, so 400W at 8 ohms, so 2/300 at 12 ohms?
  22. If I was to get a One10W I'd want to be able to use it on its own, for those small gigs. I used to have a One10 and it was surprisingly loud for its size, but it wouldn't be much use to me if it was only useable with the Three10.
  23. How would that work when using the One10W on its own with an amp rated at 4/8 ohms? Would it just reduce the output?
  24. My pedal arrived Monday and had a few days to play around with it. First and foremost, my cats hate it. They slink away as soon as they hear it. HOWEVER, I love it. I honestly thought it would be just another fuzz with a lot of hype around and I was mostly getting it to complete my 3 Leaf Audio collection. But it turns out it's an amazing circuit. It's really responsive to dynamics, I particularly like tuning the Gain knob down and getting a tube-ish overdrive. It also goes hard, with it getting octave fuzz-like above the 12th fret. And synth tones to die for. Only thing I'm not getting my head round are the X-over and Your/You're switches. I don't hear much difference with the former, and the latter just seems to give a scooped sound. What they do isn't clearly explained in the instruction sheet. That said, the pedal sounds great. PS the lettering glows in the dark.
  25. I have no idea about the engineering behind it but it's on their website and they posted a completed one in use on their Instagram page. I'm sure if you email Alex he will explain the science behind it.
