Warwickshire Metal - Facebook Likes and feedback request!
Kev replied to Kev's topic in Share Your Music
Cheers Tom, thanks for that feedback! I agree with most of what you say. The bass is mixed in for the genre I think, have a pretty aggressive Darlkglass/Dingwall combination going on under there but not sure all that clank would fit in as well, but its certainly something to experiment with! Drums is the best we can work with at the moment, hopefully we'll be in a position to record the kit one day, but midi will have to do for now. There are a couple of artefacts in the first track actually, well spotted! They wont be repeated and hopefully Dragonfire sounds better, the comp will be rolled back for future tracks too. Cheers! -

What a truly superb thread, you guys make this community an absolute pleasure to be part of -
So, my band have stuck a couple of tracks on Youtube/Soundcloud/Facebook and it would be great to get a few page likes from you guys and hear any comments you have! Home mixed by the singer and these are our first demos so be kind please! But any pointers on the mix would be cool https://www.facebook.com/BarbikanBand

I have recently owned a Vanderkley 112 and a Bergantino 112 alongside one another and the Berg was certainly the more aggressive. Thing is, aggressive is really rather subjective! What I mean is that the Berg is much punchier in the mids than the Vanderkley. The Vanderkley has more bottom, but a more neutral mid and high end.
I was looking for one a while back and ended up buying one new. This really is the best compressor I've ever used though! Glwts!
Seconded. This knocked a Cali76 off the board and will certainly be the comp I come back to when I have the funds!
Hmmm.. I was just about to press go on finance for one of these as I love the look of them and I'd heard nothing but glowing reports on this thread. I felt I should check back in before accepting said finance and I'm quite shocked that there's been problems reported. I just cancelled my application. Can't do it. Gutted really, but thinking sensibly now I really should play one first before committing to something like that. Me - 1 Gas - 0
Its a good call, i did the exact same thing. I think this is clearly a bass you need to try before you buy to make sure it is one of the good ones!

^^^ I wonder where that's going... Any particular reason why you are particularly interested in buying new? 2nd hand will give you so many other options, and a second hand cab at least has its speaker properly broken in
no they didn´t respond to my mails
Try Bass Direct again, I think that it is the ideal avenue in the UK for you as it will be surrounded by pedals and gear this works so very, very well with.
Awesome deal! Great opportunity to get on this! Have you considered dealers in the UK at all? I mentioned Bass Direct to you, any luck there? Overseas, Prymaxe gets a lot of interest in the UK as well as the US.

Darkglass Super Symmetry Compressor. GAS for a Vintage Ultra has become unbearable so strictly in line with my self imposed pedal number limit, something has to give. This is a great compressor, but I can get by without one for now. Pedal is in great condition with velcro on the bottom and perfect working condition. Picture on the board:- Specs THE UNIVERSE IS THE LIMIT Designed and built in Helsinki Finland, the Super Symmetry offers all the transparency and precision of the modern compressor. Also, the envelope effect of it reminds all school compressors. DIMENSION 12×9.4cm (4.72×3.7 in) FEATURES Blend: Mix between the compressed and clean signal, ideal for fast compression adjustment (to reduce it you can dial back the blend and avoid messing up with your input and output levels). Input: Adjusts the input gain on the compressor. Besides working great for ensuring clean operation, it also allows for adjusting the threshold over which the compressor starts reducing gain. Higher input settings will result in higher levels of compression. Attack: Sets the time under which gain reduction begins. Release: Sets the time after which the signal goes back to pre-gain-reduction levels. Higher release settings will hold the compressed signal for shorter time. Compression: Sets the amount of compression (Gain Reduction). It interacts heavily with the input knob (the higher the input the earlier and harder the ratio knob will compress). Output: Sets the output volume level of the unit.
Cool Maybe it's time to think about others not on my list. The only thing is that unless it's Ampeg or Ashdown then it's difficult to try any of those other brands out first. I am now going to look at: Eich T 300 Taurus BL450 Gallien Krueger MB Fusion Bugera Veyron 1001T And then part of me says "just get a Gallien Krueger 700RB II". It is a lot bigger and heavier than the others, I can't sit it on top of my new cab and I'd have to keep using my stand for it but I know this amp, I know how good it is and I know that I'm not going to get exactly the same sound from any of the MB series
Buying second hand not your thing? If it is, much easier to try before you buy for a lot of the more obscure brands -
A Tecamp Puma 300 - or Eich - would make a cool mini rig. Really like my 900 very much indeed.
Seconded. There is a Puma 300 in the classifieds too, an excellent amp. FWIW, I don't use barefaced, but the Puma kicked a GK MB Fusion out of my rig due to it being bettered on every level, I anticipate the Puma 300 would equally blow away an MB200, certainly worth looking into -
Well it seems the price of these has 'universally' gone up to £949 - which to me is quite a big jump. I definitely was contemplating getting another, but I don't if I can knowing that the price used to be £70 lower.
That, together with the QC issues littered throughout this thread, should put off most BC'ers I would think! I don't follow Fender much, but the way they have gone about this bass is frankly odd, from every perspective.
