1.
Very much so, even more so when people say 'buy a Dingwall!'
Who says that?! Bit odd to categorise that with the Precision and Barefaced brigade! Dingwall's sell themselves.....
2.
I can only speak for Milwaukee. 99% of all clubs and bars that book live music are dedicated to cover bands. These clubs and bars do not hire originals bands. We have about 6 origibal bands clubs that book multi bill shows. These clubs do not book cover bands. Blue
That's really quite sad
3. For those wondering, being a 2011 model this will have the new slimmer neck profile a lovely bass, I'm sure!
4. You missed the memo! Everyone is buying the Fender Flea bass now, Maruszcyzk are so 2016 first quarter Nice bass man.

WITHDRAWN

Nothing can compete at this price level. Awesome basses.
6. I would use a little wood glue, at least at first before doing anything more significant. Wood glue should be a better shout than superglue and other thin glues.
7. Depends on your budget. I use a Girgig Generator, best and quietest supply I have used.
8.
Official govt line is: " You can bring in your personal belongings or private vehicle free of duty and tax so long as you: are moving your normal place of residence to the UK only have had your normal place of residence outside the EU for a continuous period of at least 12 months have possessed and used the belongings for at least 6 months outside the EU before they are imported did not get them under a duty/tax free scheme (but see paragraph 5.3) declare them to us as explained in paragraph 3.2 will keep them for your personal use do not sell, lend, hire out or otherwise dispose of them in the UK or anywhere else in the EU within 12 months of the date of importation, unless you notify us first and pay duty and VAT on disposal"
I'm surprised there are that many rules for taking things with you!! But yes, none of this applies to using the postal service to send items home, which I think is the OPs main query.
9.
I'm not sure where it came from. Also I hear that Bartolinis have low output. Not true. These pickups are huge.imo the best pickups in the world. Everyone has different ears of course. I have the full Delano preamp and pickups package for sale by the way. He he.
That 'brittleness' you talked about the Barts not having? That is probably where it came from. Most modern high end pickups are full range and if not eq'd correctly can sound very hifi in the high end. The Barts sound darker as they don't have the glistening high end naturally. This was my experience with the two Roscoe's and a Warwick I have owned, certainly darker sounding than the likes of Nordstrand.
10.
So if you move to another country, you have to pay import charges on all your belongings that you can't squeeze into your luggage?
If you use a postal service, yes. But surely you would use a moving company or something?
11.
But surely, if you send them to yourself, then you shouldn't be liable for tax, as they are your property.
It doesn't matter. You legally have to declare a value on the goods you are posting, and that value will attract duty when it arrives in customs. I don't understand why the system works in this way. Well, I do; Revenue generating.
12.
It Looks like Tim C isn't using the Barefaced cabs at this gig , any idea what these no name cabs are ?? https://www.youtube....h?v=TzyPw2lpWqo
Love affair didn't last long then? Yeah, it could be a supplied backline, but I would have thought someone of Tim's calibre would not accept any old backline?
13. Superb amps, these. I bet the extra 300w in power in this one really kicks!
14. Ship them and you have to declare their full value. Do that and you will be liable for duty. I have never understood why duty is payable on second hand products, given the tax has at some point already been paid, but there you go.
15.
Just curious. If my band decided that we would only perform the B sides to popular record releases (pre-digital of course) and never played outside of that set... would we still be a covers band?
Yes.
16.
PM'd
And replied I almost regret saying this, but back on topic please
17.
Why? Maybe we should restrict all Blue's posts to one thread? Or perhaps he should have his own sub forum. I don't get you guys. Just I gnore the threads you're not interested in.
Why? To prevent unnecessary clutter in the Forum. The same member wishes to post two threads that could very easily and sensibly be condensed into one. Please pm me directly if you have any other comments regarding moderator guidance
18. Can I request that there please not be a follow up thread, and relevant conversation be contained to this thread?
19. I don't understand how this thread has reached 5 pages, nor do I have any desire to read and find out! A cover band is one that interprets another's music and does not claim it as their own. The end.
20. My word you go through some fantastic gear! How long has this been in the stable?! Why is this one being moved on??
21. Cheers guys Discreet, if you need any help let me know
22. Bump for an excellent amp in great condition and a chunky old saving off the new cost, what's not to love?
23. I don't know why I haven't bought this yet.
24. Sounds excellent, Gary! Great to see you on here too
25. At that price it has to be worth a go. Those pickups are quite remarkable, very aggressive and open sounding, but the eq and switch make them very versatile.
