1. Our third track is now online, be great to have any further comments https://www.facebook.com/BarbikanBand/ https://www.facebook.com/BarbikanBand/videos/1117196341703481/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvuQdVYr3Z8
2. Awesome, is there additional stain on the topwood?
3. All trade offers by PM only please. Lovely bass as always bud!
4. Glad to be getting one back. Regretted selling the one I had, and this has to be the funkiest paint job for a pedal ever!
5.
Aftershock gone, Proton on hold!
Did you get my pm?
6. Could be interested in that SubT, however is it the camera angle or is the clean knob bent or out of line with the others??
7.
Yes, I know Combustion models are made in China but due to his serial number I thought this bass could be made in Canada... Impossibile??
It will have been made in China, and set up in Canada
8.
I asked Adrian the same question back in the day. He says there's no difference, as does Roger Sadowsky... I agree with them both. Both of mine are chambered and they're awesome.
Interesting. Is the argument that it only makes a difference if they have a sound hole? Certainly a Dingwall ABII sounds pretty different from a Dingwall ABI, although they do have different woods too.
9. Thousands of pounds have gone the way of Bass Direct from me over the past 5 or 6 years, almost always Mark has dealt with me personally when I have came in with a handshake and a chat, can't ask for more really. He is opinionated and he has his own views, but I like that about him. Plenty of shop owners could just let you buy something that would clearly be unsuitable. Sure, he wont always be right, but ultimately its your choice to ignore his recommendation if you wanted to! By contrast, a couple (not all) of his members of staff I have dealt with when he hasn't been in shop did seem pretty disinterested nor keen to talk bass, which is a shame.
10. I meant the optical illusion. The cab looks gigantic, or the bass looks tiny, or its hovering in mid air, or the 2x10 has been flattened..... Probably just me haha!
11.
I'm very sorry for your loss. Can you post a picture about the back of headstock for reading where the bass was made? Many thanks.
These basses are made in China and checked/set-up at Dingwall in Canada. They are exceptional value for money.
12. That picture confused me so much more than it probably should have.
13. Withdrawn!
14. Cheers Tom, thanks for that feedback! I agree with most of what you say. The bass is mixed in for the genre I think, have a pretty aggressive Darlkglass/Dingwall combination going on under there but not sure all that clank would fit in as well, but its certainly something to experiment with! Drums is the best we can work with at the moment, hopefully we'll be in a position to record the kit one day, but midi will have to do for now. There are a couple of artefacts in the first track actually, well spotted! They wont be repeated and hopefully Dragonfire sounds better, the comp will be rolled back for future tracks too. Cheers!
15. Still available!
16. What a truly superb thread, you guys make this community an absolute pleasure to be part of
17. So, my band have stuck a couple of tracks on Youtube/Soundcloud/Facebook and it would be great to get a few page likes from you guys and hear any comments you have! Home mixed by the singer and these are our first demos so be kind please! But any pointers on the mix would be cool https://www.facebook.com/BarbikanBand
18. Looks like the buyer has dropped out of this so available again for the moment!
19. I have recently owned a Vanderkley 112 and a Bergantino 112 alongside one another and the Berg was certainly the more aggressive. Thing is, aggressive is really rather subjective! What I mean is that the Berg is much punchier in the mids than the Vanderkley. The Vanderkley has more bottom, but a more neutral mid and high end.
20. Looks like this is sold, pending usual.
21. Its such a tempter, its stunning. Body looks slim too, relatively lightweight?
22. Secret footage received of a Flea Sig being set-up by the master luthier prior to shipping.... http://scontent-cdg2-1.cdninstagram.com/t50.2886-16/14058957_1717584895158913_1294081932_n.mp4 I love this video, for so much more than light hearted humour!
