1. I'v had it in my basket about 7 times last night and this morning. There is nothing about this bass that I would usually go for, Fender, passive, 4 strings, roadworn, pickguard, pink, signature basses......but yet I want it so much!
  2.
Not had chance to play with it yet but got an open air festival gig tomorrow I'm planning on using it at
I fancy it for recording rather than live use, hoping it negates the need for a digital amp modeller. B7K > Omnicabsim > interface, to get a mic'ed cab sound.
  3.
So other than the stack knob controls what makes this Jazz bass so special?
Modeled after Flea's actual '61, reliced Nitro, vintage bridge, vintage style US pickups. Just generally a very nice jazz with a good spec for the price.
  4. Hesitated about buying one of these for ages, how is it! Calling dibs if you ever decide its not for you!
  5.
I've just had mail from Kenny's. They've had mail from Fender. They are getting them in early. Mine should be with me Monday or Tuesday
Awesome! Look forward to hearing your comments!
  6.
To confirm, yep, the spec referred to above does say it is nitro. I don't usually get that excited over another P or J, but the colour, fact it comes with what I'd spec (rosewood/tort), the fact it's modelled after a bass and not just dinged for the fun of it, the pickups, and those stacked knobs....all for under £900??! The normal roadworns are more expensive?! None of this makes sense. I have a feeling this will be a good seller. I also think I may break down and buy a bass after a few years off.
I know, its crazy. I'm so tempted by one of these its, well, stupid.

    Boss TU-3S
I guess they thought some folks would like the idea of TU-3 reliability, but with a smaller footprint and always on. But I concur, I can't see why.
Absolutely, but surely not at a higher price! Ah well, each to their own, I'm sure they will sell well!
This is meant as an option for there Es-8 and 5 or in the tuner out of volume pedal etc Andy
But the TU-3 would work in these circumstances, as would all the other through tuners on the market by boss, Korg etc. I don't get what gap this is filling?

    Marmite Pedals ...
Definitely the Darkglass B3/7K and VMT. Don't think I've seen opinion divided quite as much for any other pedal-maker recently. Seems to be either die-hard fans or total haters, and nothing inbetween...I, for one, am firmly in the latter camp! ;-)
I wouldn't agree that the B7K and VMTD and the Ultra variants are love or hate pedals, they are just too flexible for anyone to not find anything to like about them. Even with the blend all the way anticlockwise you are left with a very musical clean preamp! I suggest anyone saying the B7K is too harsh or the VMTD to middy has not spent enough time with either of them. The B3K and VMT, yeah perhaps more so The B3K has certainly got a tone you can't get away from without external EQ'ing. For anyone who doesn't check out this section often, I f***ing love it

    Boss TU-3S

Its just bizarre. I get people want more space, and usually to meet demand companies like TC, Korg etc have released their mini pedals at the same price. This hasn't even got a switch, and its £20 odd more! I have no idea who would buy this? Due to its odd little format, it doesn't save anywhere near as much space as the other mini offerings do, and they have the advantage of a footswitch and the ability to mute the signal chain. Odd move.

    Boss TU-3S

Can someone explain why this is so much more expensive than a Tu-3? http://www.dawsons.co.uk/boss-tu-3s-chromatic-tuner The Waza craft one looks cool, and the true bypass switch is very attractive, but otherwise seems like a lot of money, it's not even built in Japan, rather 'inspected'.

    Marmite Pedals ...

The ODB-3 is a great example. A lot of people just don't know how to get the best from it! With the gain all the way down and the blend to taste, bass boosted and highs cut, you get a great bass overdrive tone, without a trace of harsh buzzyness. I thought it was awful at first, but then I realised how to get the best from it! Another one that springs to mind is the MXR Bass envelope filter: gets a lot of love on here, I couldn't stand the thing. Every setting had this horrible auto wah trail-off sound, the kind you get on cheap digital multieffect pedals. Clearly I am in the minority on this one!
  13.
As has been pointed out, they're not a 3 piece. Dunno why bands like muse and green day don't just make the sidemen full members of the band - they can't do a gig without them after all.
The 4th Muse guy has specifically said he doesn't want to be part of the band, nor does he want to have prominent position on stage.
  14. Yup, didn't enjoy it. Compare it to the natural festival competition of Muse, no contest!
  15. All pm's replied to. Lots of interest but as of right now it is available.
  16. Ibanez was my first thought, loads of bass for the money. Second hand, as always, is key to get the best you can get at that kind of budget
  17.
Lots of bands with programmed keyboards ! That's not live Music in my book.
Schoolboy error if your talking about Muse To be honest, more and more bands are using PCs these days as part of their setup. Its just part of the modern game now, it seems that bands want their live shows to sound more and more like the records.
  18. Aurora has me mesmerised at the moment.
