I hear no HATE,only passion and respect for the art. Blue
You must be joking. If Maple Road's drummer spoke to you in that way, using the same phraseology, you would just take that as inspiration? If so then your right, serious cultural difference!

I like to look after what I own, whatever it is that I own. I don't understand why anyone would be happy to see their 'tool' bashed about, scratched and damaged wherever it could be avoided. A car is essentially a tool, do the same people treat their vehicle in the same way?

I think its one of those where, if a buyer is stupid enough to buy from the pictures and description, they deserve it!

Mine turned up today too. Good news - it does actually work! Which is always a bonus

I use a B7K Ultra as an always-on preamp, usually with distortion on to create the dirty signal. No amp* could simulate this for me, and actually the Darkglass sound works together really well with valve preamp of my GK head. So, for me, I would disagree with the OP question. I have the right amp and the right pedalboard to compliment it. *When the Darkglass head is released, it may turn my world upside-down a little...
It would be completely understandable, if Alex really couldn't be bothered revisiting this thread.
Its a shame the path it has taken, but as I have already said the blame is definitely on both sides of the coin, as it often is with subjects like this.
Wow, I've just read through this whole thread and it did seem to get a bit nasty, but also some valid comments both pro and con regarding BF IMO. I'm not going to go into my BF thoughts, those are well known, and they aren't bad anyway, they just weren't for me. What I've not read about is what TC (never heard of him before this thread) felt BF would offer him that he didn't already have. I mean that as serious question. I've read a lot about how meticulous TC is about his tone at the start of this thread, and what a great tone he has. Well, OK, so what made him change to BF? What did he feel was missing from the great tone he already had? I can understand going to BF, the cabs put out a lot more volume than the look like they can, but I have a feeling he wasn't lacking volume before. I do think that rig, combined with the JBL monitors that have been mentioned is just, well, OTT and comical. Never having gigged at this level maybe you do need all that stuff on stage, although I personally can't understand why. That's not directed at BF at all, but I do wonder how some people can get away with a lot less and still get the job done. Still, a belated congrats to Alex and BF, hope it works out and leads to bigger things.
Best, most balanced response to this thread so far. I would be interested in the answers too. Doubt TC will chime in, can Alex?

I can vouch for the MB Fusion 500 being a great amp with a proper valve preamp running at full voltage.
A luthier I know had a Fender CS Strat in for repair. It was a heavy relic version and the customer wanted one of the paint surface dings retouched. When the luthier asked why, as the guitar was covered in marks and dings, the response was "yes, but those are from the Fender factory and I did this one myself so I want it fixed". . . True story
That kid needs a slap! Jesus wept...

I think the kind of folks that buy reliced basses don't tend to keep their instruments for very long...

I do like the sound of this. That demo is cool, but 10 minutes if talking before the pedal is even turned in is a bit much! Something of a tale of woe this thread, though. All these issues with power, interference and popping. Are these all confirmed to be defects? Large investment for a floor unit that is anything other than perfect!

Bugger, so it has. Worked at time of posting, sorry folks!

Are you talking about Dunlop strap locks?

Enter NEWTUNER as a promo code and it knocks it down to 99p! Usual amazon shipping rules, so free with orders over £20 or free on prime. Bizarre, but its cheaper than the Polytune so ill give it a go!

Cadbury Bass has been dropped off with a tech today to be fitted with a Darkglass pre and series/parallel switches, should be picking her back up next week!
Ok, poor choice of words. But I still don't know why it's only his products that get this amount of polarising discussion.
I think one of the reasons why is the somewhat "preachy" nature of some Barefaced owners. There are many, many very high quality cabs out there these days, which of course is awesome for us. Some will think Barefaced build the best for their surprisingly loud-for-their-size speakers and lightweight nature, others would think there are many with much nicer tone than Barefaced and volume/unexpected lows are not everything. However, I think a select few Barefaced owners feel the need to tell everyone that Alex builds the best and loudest cabinets in the world, even more than he does! That naturally gets peoples backs up, and creates threads like this. There are LOADS of example of both sides in this thread alone, preach and bait and argue. I have already congratulated Alex, but I do wish people were allowed to have their opinion without being shouted down, on either side of the arguement. I bet I get shouted down now, for example!!
Yes, I see people try it but I wouldn't say they make it work. I'd agree that they might think they get away with it but I wouldn't call it a successul mix or good sound. I guess you have to be there..
What a wonderfully sweeping statement!

I'm yet to use it on stage yet, but if rehearsals with my new band are anything to go by (two loud down-tuned guitars and a drummer), my Vanderkley 112MNT will keep up just fine for the kind of gigs we will be doing. I can't imagine needing a second. Sounds bloody superb, too.
