1. Bloody hell, could have had one for £400 last year, had no idea they fetched that kind of price!
 2.
Ahh, ok. I was expecting to see a little stand of their own. I'm disappointed now
You didn't miss anything. A trip to Bass Direct would give you the same experience I think
 3. Ahhh. I'm tempted. Have you used any other reverbs on bass and how does it compare? I loved my Nimbus.
 4.
One thing i was disappointed about. I may have missed it, but Mono were advertised as being there, but I never saw them. I wanted to have a good look at them.
You missed it. Mono were part of a distributors stand, I think they may have been with MXR and someone else?
 5.
Probably way more versatile than a Thunderbird, but does it sound like one in any of the pickup selections?
No, or at least I don't think it did. Limited experience with Thunderbirds though...
 6.
How Leo would feel about what? Spector Coda?
Turning in his grave
 7. Went on Saturday and had an enjoyable day! Didn't catch as many of you as I would have liked, but was good to speaking to those whom I did and hanging out with BigBassBob for the day! Spent a lot of time with Mark, Doug, Sheldon and co at the Bass Direct stand, mostly drooling over the D-Bird Just the one performance for me, Michael Manring, and I was blown away by his crazy talent. You hardly believe all that sound on the records is produced by a single instrument in a single layer but, yup, it is, albeit with help from a floor unit. Amazing man and extremely humble.
 8. I wonder how Leo Fender would feel...
 9. Didn't realise he was selling it otherwise I would have enquired. How much was it up for? I really liked it, fantastic tone and rapid neck. Upper fret access is poor and I'm not sure about that headstock, but if it really is combustion level pricing I would be very interested!
 10.
Filter before overdrive!? Well that's just not right at all... N.b. Don't take seriously ;-)
Each to their own I use the B7K Ultra as a master preamp so it has to be last in line, but even if I wasn't using it for that I prefer a filter going into drive. I put fuzz pedals before filter, but drives are always usually after.
 11. Most Single Cut designs 'Super' P types 'Super' J types Lakland bridges Beat up vintage instruments Front facing LEDs Oversized bodies Any bass with lazy top/body bookmatching. Black fretboard inlays
 12.
I'm so green about the protostar. Where did you buy it?
It's not available yet, prototype sent to me after a long running saga regarding an irepairable Super Fatman. It's a great filter with a ton of options, I'll do a full review at some point when I have the chance
 13.
Thanks The Cali plays very nicely with the Ultra, i love it but before i got the Ultra i was starting to wonder about it... Nice! How you finding the Ultra? Ive always been a B3K guy over the B7K, despite mainly having a B7K on the board but this thing kills both of them i'm finding, having the ability to cut some 500hz and the master volume has opened up a world of possibilities for me and i didnt expect to be blown away by the clean side to be honest but its pretty epic!
Interesting about the Cali, I sold mine to replace with a Super Symmetry, and sold that as ultimately I found it not to be needed as having the B7K almost always on gave me enough compression. I really want to try a tranny (oo er) version of the Cali now, and wouldn't mind giving the compact a run. I have been a B7K man so this is an expansion on what I already know and love. I too am cutting mids slightly at 500hz which I find very useful with bass (100hz) boost as a clean preamp. Loving the extra features, and if you use it as a clean pre too I guess weirdly it is probably closer to owning a B3K than a B7K!
 14.
What's the one knobber Kev?
Boost pedal built by our very own Sibob
 15. Gigrig on top as new homemade board isn't large enough underneath to fit 🙄
 16.
Another change... Not the most exciting board on here but boy does this combo sound good.
Excellent. Remain ever tempted to buy another Cali but just know I will sell it on again, like every bass compressor iv had! Polytune and Ultra on my board too, I'll rustle up a pic...
 17.
Hey guys! I'll be walking around on the London Bass Show. Mainly hanging out at the Bass Direct but will be just checking stuff out the whole weekend! Hope to see some of you!! Regards! D.
That's great man, I'll be there on Sat so hopefully I'll bump into you.
 18. Tell you what, if they do build this in China and sell at combustion prices, and tweak the design a little, this will be a huge hit for them. Look forward to checking it out at LBGS!
 19.
Think you're referring to the B7K ultra, which looks (sounds) pretty awesome but I'm referring to the Vintage Deluxe Ultra predicted for more Rock rather than Metal tones... Good luck to all of you with the B7K Ultras landing about now... All the DG stuff sounds great..... (except the compressor SS which I can't hear the difference for at all in any of the demos?) Visog
I know The B7K can do so much more than metal, really can. I just find the vintage circuit too dark naturally, but I am eager to try the MK2 with the attack and grunt switches. The Vintage Ultra would be too much alongside the B7K ultra I think. The B7K ultra has landed and it's superb. I echo the above sentiments entirely. The quality of the unit is astonishing too; say what you want about the tone, but what cannot be denied is Darkglass are so far ahead of anyone else in build quality in my opinion, the cases and switches are top, top notch.
 20.
Everytime I`ve bought a compressor, I`ve sold a compressor. Something tells me I need one, that I won`t be a real bassist until I have one, but then I hear it in the mix and am not happy. I do play with a fair bit of drive though, which apparently acts as natural compression.
Same with me. Love the idea of compression, never happy when I have it. Quite bizarre really.
 21. Darkglass pedals work incredibly well together. I have gone B3K>B7K, B7K>B7K, Vintage>B3K, Vintage>B7K, Vintage DLX>B7K.... you get the picture! They all compliment each other wonderfully.
 22. Pedaltrain JR Junior Pedal Board with its Softcase. Excellent pedalboard with lots of room for all the sounds the punters don't care less about This one: http://www.andertons...-wsoft-case.asp Actual pics can be provided if needed, but you know what it is! Clean slate, no velcro and no velcro included. Power Supply mounting kit, cable ties and carry strap all still there. £55 shipped in UK.
 23. The iRig is only for very casual use, the sound is poor in comparison to lightening cable connected devices. I use iRig HD, and its superb.
 24. My Ultra should be with me tomorrow, man the wait has felt long
