1. I hope this bass finds its forever home soon, kinda sad to see it passed around! Excellent price on this considering what you are getting, the MC pickup and DFM preamp combo is only found on the top spec instruments and don't come cheap!
  2. Update on the mini rig:- Just back from band practice with a fairly loud metal band and this setup with my Dingwall absolutely KILLED. The cab pushes some serious air, very very nice sound and happily for me sounds superb with the Darkglass gear. No problem with volume at all, tons of power left in the bag too. Really impressed with the Vanderkley though, great cab
  3.
I hope you packed it well
Could have saved a little cash. Send it via parceforce to an non-existent address, you'll have it back returned to you in a few weeks with a lovely amount of battering and bruising, FOC
  4. Loving this
  5. On of the better compressors you can buy on a tight budget, can't go wrong at this price!
  6. Cant fault their customer service. I had a set a few years ago that started flaking awfully after a couple of hours use. Contacted them, sent replacements with no further questions asked. Sadly, I don't get on with the string and do find their prices a bit, well, crazy. But the service you are paying for is top notch

    bassfan's feedback

Sold Paul a vicious little fuzz pedal, agreeable chap, no complaints whatsoever. Cheers bud!
  8. Picked this up recently, its a superb clone of the Woolly Mammoth pedal. Here is the video that sold me:- https://www.youtube....h?v=gNe6J5v2OGc Stupid lows and vicious fuzz. Like the Mammoth, its for Passive basses only really, but it does sound SO big. £25 shipped to your door.
  9.
Oh kev, this is not helping me save up for my holiday. Ive been looking at Vanderkley to replace my BF BB2, and im also using a GK head (although mine is a MB800). I dont think ive seen many posts about the small GK heads and these cabs. Ill keep an eye on this thread and see how you get on. Oh, and i didnt need to see "that" pedal either ;-)
Its a great cab... I'm still not 100% on keeping the pedal bud, but I promise I will let you know!
Nice one Kev - cracking set up you have there
Cheers bud!
  10.
Not very impressed with the shipping times... I ordered one pretty much as soon as the OP went up, and got a confirmation first thing the following morning (Tuesday) with a message saying that it would be delivered in the next 2-3 days. Well today's Parcel Force delivery has been and gone with nothing for me, and the tracking information has the bass still stuck in Köln...
To be fair, you ordered after working hours on the 9th in that case, so would have been looked at for the first time on Tuesday. It in Germany, I know they said 2-3 days but I wouldn't get too upset about it not being here by the end of the week, I wouldn't necessarily have expected it to be. Reckon you'll have it Monday, and under a week's turnaround for an international delivery is decent in my book
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Uber is the top end range and Graft is the entry level range; which one is yours?? Apologies if I have got my names mixed up!
  12.
It must be your gear that I was eyeing up on Instagram! All of it looks great. I just got a VdK 212. It's a very impressive cab.
I can't wait to turn up the volume and see what it can do. Gigged with the 212 yet?
  13. Great looking rig would love to try that head one day!
  14. Id love to here how this head compares to the GK MB Fusion 500. Other than a valve preamp they seem to have a lot in common, with the Genz working out cheaper due to higher wattage.
  15.
The 10CR250 driver is exclusive to Barefaced as far as I can make out from the information on their website. "The One10 contains a unique high output 10CR250 driver, designed by Barefaced and custom made by Eminence in the USA."
But why would eminence not make something like it to sell for themselves? I'm being devils advocate here, but I'm curious and confused by it all really,
  16.
You're thinking that the One10 is going to sound like a 110 cab. The point I was trying to make is that to compare it with any existing 110 cab is fairly meaningless. Having said that, I haven't heard all of them, of course.
I don't doubt the maths and science behind all this but, in real world situations, if Barefaced cabs were truly twice as loud as competitor equivalents, why are they the only ones building cabs with drivers like this?
  17. A little delayed, but in an effort to get myself back on the gigging scene I have bought myself a little high quality rig second hand for good prices that hopefully will serve me well. GK Fusion 500 and a Vanderkley 112MNT. GK is putting out ~300w at 8ohms when cranked, however the Vanderkley as a pretty impressive 600w handling so will take whatever the GK, or most amps for that matter, throws at it. Initial thoughts are they are rather good together. Yet to use them in anger but the GK is surprisingly flexible, with all the GK growl there if you want it but plenty of other options available. The switchable second gain is really useful and, providing you don't push them too far, the valves break up real nice. The cab is really, really nice. Build quality is top notch, very detailed sound, tweeter is wonderfully musical and the colour appears to be very neutral, both basses and the Darkglass stuff sound very smooth through it indeed. Of course, yet to use either in anger yet, but I always have high hopes that an Amp and Cab that sound good at lower volumes will kill when cranked Family shot: Currently GAS free on all front, but we'll see how that lasts!
  18.
Surely whether it's a weird question or not is irrelevant? If a customer phones up and asks a question, it makes sense to just answer them... there is a chance they are going to be buying something from you, so presumably you want to be as accommodating as possible?
Well, it is difficult to mask a tone of voice that one would naturally have when being asked an odd question. Unless I misread, Mark did answer, but perhaps didn't mask his surprise at being asked all too well.
  19.
I have Just Called Bass Direct to enquire about a bass i may well purchase, i simply asked if the Bass had any marks or Dings etc , as i have found new basses in Guitar Guitar for example Damaged !!! he seemed offended i asked the question and his tone was very brisk and unfriendly, surely it is not such a bad thing to ask if there are any marks on a bass that is hanging up on a shop wall, that i am about to fork out a lot of money for !!! to be honest he put me off buying the bass, he is not doing himself any favours certainly not with me any way, his manor was a bit too head master for me. shame as there are some lovely Basses on the web site.
If its a new bass, to be honest I think its a weird question to ask; I would never thing to ask if it was in perfect condition...as its new! It would be sent straight back if it wasn't. If its a used bass then completely understand the question and surprised at Mark's reaction, although I'm sure he was intended on being rude or anything like that.
  20. Just sold this chap a little Markbass combo. Paid straight away, all you can ask for really! Top stuff, highly recommend.
  21.
I spent ages trying all the current Class D crop and the MB Fusion 500 was by far the best to pair with a couple of One 10s. Collective jaws dropped down the pub the other night when I casually chucked into the conversation "I don't miss the SVT stack at all, you know". Many many spilled pints and dropped bacon sandwiches to be cleared up.
Thats good to hear. You still get the GK growl and punch? I was concerned about the more vintage style colouring of these cabs making it less suitable for modern rock tones.

    Unsticky velcro...

Aye, allowing the adhesive to cure is vital. It'll never be as strong otherwise.
