1. Any electronics that are in the signal chain before the WM will cause issues. Basically, if all power is off on your board and you still have a bypassed signal coming through, it is fine to be before the WM. Buffered bypass, active electronics (pickups or preamp) and, obviously, any engaged pedal will seriously reduce the usability of the sound. To more directly answer the question, the pedal does not need to be true bypass, but it does need to be mechanical and not powered. The boss OC-2 will interfere in bypass, but any true bypass alternative would not. Although, I usually have octaves after the WM, as tracking is usually fine and you avoid ruining the WMs tone with an active signal.

Unsticky velcro...

I use the strong industrial Velcro (the brand) type. The adhesive is very, very strong and I couldn't forsee it ever failing. I have had it stick over rubbed feet and still be stickier than ever.
3. Nothing wrong with the price on this one bud, these are special basses and, given their new price, worth every penny!
4. Lovely! Regarding shipping, Sheldon has said that he has had far more incidents shipping in a hard case than the Dingwall gig bag. The snug fit of the bag seems to protect them more . The only frustrating issue is insurance, as many carriers will not cover without it being in a hard case.
5.
Key for me is how the overdrive and cab sim sound. Currently my headphone practice rig consists of: Tuner -> Le Bass -> OmniCabSim -> PJB Bighead 4 boxes, 3 of them very expensive. If I could consolidate those I would be a happy bunny!
Give me a heads up if you do want to move the OmniCabSim on bud!
6. I think I said 'bloody' once in a thread - I got a formal warning from a moderator.
7.
I don't see what's so confusing, it's a preamp. The XLR in the front saves board space. It has a switch for overdrive and another for compressor, hold the compressor switch and you get a tuner. It has send/return jacks which are normal in a preamp, and the only odd thing is that it works as a soundcard. In my view, it's a very well thought-out product, except that I don't understand how to bypass it completely. If that's not possible, it's a big fail.
Its just a jumble of features on the front face that just don't seem to gel. Apart from it being bizarre to have the aux/phones/USB jacks on the top, if any of those are plugged in, how do you stomp on the Boost switch if you have man sized feet? Its like I said, I don't get the market. Surely most people who covet the GK sound have a GK amp (as opposed to Ampeg, for example)? It just seems like it is trying to be a multi effects do it all unit, yet falls short of being that. And the cost puts it against some very heavy bass preamp competition, most of which are not bloated with features like this one. We'll have to agree to disagree
8. I just don't get the design at all.

[SOLD]

Incredible example from one of the best luthiers this country has to offer. This must be one of, if not the very first Alpher that has ever appeared on the second hand market. Should say a lot about their quality! Best of luck with the sale, shame your having to move it on!
10. So BD are finally taking preorders for the Canadian built version, in colours including metallic black and candy purple. http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Dingwall_D_Bird.html
11. Hmm, Not in great nic, that Wal, certainly not at the new Buy it Now price! Strings over neck pickup do look odd, you can certainly see that the nut has shifted, but only by a little. Could be a trick of the camera, but this is certainly a bass to see any play before handing over a penny.
12. Just to confirm before closing, the bass that has sold was the following:- FS/FT: Fender 62 Reissue Jazz Bass - http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d6/mikkel-s/IMG_9216_zpsbxgzzhs3.jpg ??
13. Sold, pending payment. Thanks for interest, folks.
14. Coolest Tuner on the market, now discontinued I believe so its rare and all that . Boxed in great condition with a few unphographable surface scratches. Price includes shipping. Cheers
15. The BS1 is now with me Its a cool little (well, quite big actually) pedal. I owned a Woolly Mammoth so long ago I can't quite remember it, but this does a decent impression. From memory the Gate is nowhere near as tight as the Mammoth could get, but other than that it seems like a faithful clone. Build quality is quite nice, footswitch could be quieter but the knobs/pots feel high quality. Had to take off the battery assembly at the bottom to get it flat enough for pedalboard use but thats not much of an issue. Buying a battery for it would nearly cost as much as the pedal did But yes, other than it being a little oversized, a slightly poppy footswitch and a softer gate than its master, I can't complain too much at all Lows are THUNDEROUS!
16. Just to clarify, are you offering a free holiday with the purchase of this bass?? Lovely looking example
17. I am a big fan of Rattlesnake leads, but they can work out a little expensive after delivery/customs. Nothing wrong with OBBM cables
18.
I have seen a few early Warwicks up for sale and I was wondering if they would become collectable as well as being the very usable instruments that they are. Will they ever be seriously sought after?
No, sadly. If anything, they are going down in value. As has been said, £900 odd with get you an eighties Streamer if you look in the right places. A few years ago you would be harder pressed to find one for less than four figures. Relative to handbuilt basses, there are so many of them knocking about as well, which doesn't help. The rarer models and some LTDs are holding value a little better, but I can't ever imagine seeing them go up.
19.
My custom Elwood arrived today! I'm proper chuffed with it. The craftsmanship is excellent and it plays like butter. The setup out of the box is perfect for me too, which is unusual. Usually I've got the allen keys out within 5 minutes of opening the box. Hugh
Love the simplicity! And refreshing to hear good news about the out of the box setup Congrats!

Filter Quest!
I will hopefully be taking delivery of one of the first new WMD Super Fatman pedals very soon. I loved the original and the new one has some interesting tricks up its sleeve, William has certainly stirred up the excitement anyway!
Well, the WMD Protostar has been with me for a little while now. Big step up from its little brother, really cool filter and the patch bay is something unique. Great with an expression pedal and the LFO is really musical too. Crazy and subtle sounds to boot Ultimately though, I will likely move it on (once its actually on general sale) as I don't have too much use for a filter at the moment. Saying that, would still like to try a Trutron...
21. Gorgeous Thumb, and good weight for one too!
22. Its obviously a specialist bass but that can surely be the only reason this hasn't gone by now. Great price for a real unique looking bit of kit!
23. Thanks for that ^^^ Off the back of that video I just bought the Little Bear on eBay! Loved the Woolly Mammoth, despised the price tag. For £20 odd, I'll give it a go
24. How is this still for sale? If its not obvious, this is a Made in Canada Dingwall, not a Combustion, and this kind of money for such a bass is a superb deal!
25. Yikes! Gorgeous I don't ever remember seeing LEDs used so tastefully, lovely lovely.
