The clean stuff all sounded great (actually VERY useful sounding preamp pedal!)... then the distortion went on and messed it all up! Yuk...
Given that you don't like the B*K drive sound, what did you expect?
-
Yup, sounds like a P bass
Anyone see this? I never use distortion personally but the EQ section on this thing sounds very good for those who like a clean tone. Beta Test & Review D’Addario NYXL Bass Strings
Kev replied to D'AddarioUK's topic in Accessories and Misc
Having recently took delivery of a custom Alpher Instruments 5 string, I would love to put a 5 string set through its paces. These strings sound very interesting indeed! -
Sold pending Payment: Darkglass B7K - Limited 'Beast' Edition
Kev posted a topic in Effects For Sale
Limited edition run of the B7K with the Marvel artist artwork on the front and the black aluminium custom unibody. Latest B7K circuit, an incredible pedal and not one I would be selling if I could afford to keep it. Pedal is As New with a little velcro. Bought new from Bass Direct for £270, don't think anywhere in the UK or Europe have any of these left now. Includes SD shipping in the UK. Cheers! -
FS/FT Warwick SS2 - 5 strings wenge neck, ebony fingerboard
Kev replied to ovialexm1's topic in Basses For Sale
They are between frets... like any other normal bass.
I previously asked if it maybe used to be a fretless, hence the ebony board and lack of inlays. I didn't get an answer so I thought I would check another way Its a cool custom order bass -
I can't tell. Are you saying it's the finest instrument in the universe incapable of being bettered? Or are you saying that you can't polish a turd?
Haha!
This or a vintage P?
You would get change with this in many a case. And when you compare the build quality... Still, each to their own. Vintage P's do look pretty on a wall, or in those rather fetching tweed cases Alternatively, buy a Squire Classic Vibe, stick a Aguilar P in it, and lets be honest you will be 3/4 of the way there

I was about to get myself a Polytune tuner, but then I saw this. Anyone any experience with it? Never seen or heard of it before??
-
I like it Price seems bang on compared to other 'Super' P builders too.

iPhone Apps for bass player - (esp your fave tuner...)
Kev replied to LukeFRC's topic in General Discussion
I think you are going to be somewhat surprised at how much more you can do with iOS Lots and lots to explore! But for a tuner, the Polytune App I have found the best and least glitchy for me -
That said I do use my B7K as an always on and with only a hair of overdrive. I am surprised to see some describe it as harsh but then maybe I like harsh?
People who describe it as harsh are not using it properly. It is capable of far more than that
Good to see you here Doug! I don't know what happened in the whole Darkglass/Spencer affair, and I don't want to know. If I've spoke out of turn I apologise. But... I DON'T think the term CLONE should be being bandied about as there has been development in these pike pedals... even if the visuals are, ahem, questionably familiar!
Agreed. Thread title amended as appropriate.
Err... How do you work that out then?
I said why I thought that in my post. With regards to Mark, he has pretty strong views on bass equipment as any who have dealt with him would know, I wouldn't be surprised if he made the decision not to sell them himself. However, I personally think him removing them from sale is more likely due to the hullabaloo about them at the moment, albeit a little odd as it is mainly on Talkbass, given that most participants in this thread have been defending Pike. Although, I think Facebook has been quite bad for Spencer, he is deleting an awful lot of comments. I may well be proven wrong if it comes out, but I repeat I do not think Doug (the only one at DG who would make the decision) would go this route, as he simply doesn't need to. Pike are not a real threat to DG sales, certainly no more of a threat than any of the other high end drive pedals out there at the moment.

No point in trying to force yourself to like something. If you have a lot of money in it, get rid
WTF??? He might aswell have said "Due to pressure from another manufacturer we are no longer selling Pike." It's understandable that he removed Pike from the list, DG sells more and generates a bigger income, i don't blame him, but if it's confirmed that DG forced him to cancel the Pike deal then they'll now look as bad in the picture as Spencer did...
Following numerous conversations with Doug, he doesn't care less about it and just finds it all a little sad really. He has said to me he just wants to move on from it and concentrate on his own releases, of which there will be many this year. I don't think this will be Darkglass pressure at all.

Do we know what happened at Bass Direct? It still sells coming soon on their 3Leaf page, but they certainly did have a sales page for them.

Well, been out of the club since I moved on the Recurve, but now have this little beauty, familiar to many I'm sure, Finn 0043

Purchased a lovely ACG bass from Chris, cracking instrument, chuffed to bits with it Parcelfarce tried to spoil it by being their usually frightfully efficient selves but arrived safe and sound so no further complaints there Cheers mate.
