1. Interesting to see the number of people saying there is no point in spending high on a bass and not gigging it. I would have thought purchasing instruments for use in the studio rather than on stage would be quite common?
2.
I owned a Wal mk3 custom 5 string for over 10 years but only played it for about 20% of that time. It was the nicest playing bass I've owned. A perfectly balanced, beautifully crafted instrument which sounded great in the originals band and in the recording studio. But, didn't sound right in the blues and soul bands that I also played with. The sound of my Lakland worked better in those bands. The Lakland was a good fit with the originals band as well. A Wal is a top quality and unique instrument but IMO doesn't have a universal sound.
Completely agree with this. You cannot stop a Wal from sounding like a Wal, and that just doesn't work in some contexts.
3. Such an interesting bass! Until I saw pictures of this I never thought Wal electronics were fitted in anything but a Wal. I think they have been fitted to Sei basses before too! But yes, from the pictures it certainly seems to have Wal pickups and a Wal preamp. Such a cool instrument!

Sold

Came very close to buying this! I bet it is a cracker, surprised it is still here
5. Nice! Seems a little pricey for a pretty specialist bass, interested to see what it will go for.
6. Nothing for me I don't think there Si I'm afraid!
7. I don't know why I bought this I have a B7K and bought this with the intention of using it to create different channels of the B*K tone; this is complete overkill, particularly for a non-gigging musician, and as good as they sound stacked, i can't justify it! Really, it is a new version of the pedal and being the Darkglass fanboy I am I needed to try it! So, we have a 2 week old B3K 2.0 Made in Finland i.e. the latest version with the footswitch upgrade and the very useful attack cut option - ideal if you have tried a B*K before and found it too harsh/metallic Brand New, has a bit of velcro that is easily removable and I will do so prior to shipping. £160 shipped, always worth asking about trades, but it will need to be for pedals based on the new price of this pedal:) Cheers!
8.
The guy that supplies me with the acrylic has retired and now only supplies two builders me being one of them. There is a limit to what you can use I suspect buckeye might not be possible.
Is burl in general to soft/spongy to use for this method?
9. I found a ramp to be a good practice tool in learning a lighter touch. It wasn't for me, I am now rampless and playing heavier than ever
10. really surprised this is still here. I swear Fenders are selling for this price!!!
11.
Thank you Kev. I tried red bull once. Three days long, i thougt i was a koala. Then i tasted eucalyptus, and then i remembered who i am. Eucalyptus is really weird! Never again!
As rare as it is in the internet world, I actually LOL'd
12. Yikes, stunning bass and rare NT5 for the vintage!
13.
They were on long enough to get a few replies, even CamdenRob mde out that they were a bass
So you did upload them on here? I ask as it would be particularly odd if you did and they are no longer visible without your intervention.
14. Checked out your videos, Andy, enjoyed the pedalboard run-through! Have you considered Darkglass gear? Listening to your distortion and gated-esque fuzz tones, the B3K/B7K and Duality could be right up your street!
15.
Now that the quarrel is finished (in a good way, but may i have my mojito please?), someone else has decided that my introduction thread can turn into an emoticon black market. Well, i assume i'll go back on my tree, chewing sheets, hanging under my favorite branch. Sloth life is upside down!
Thread starter, Welcome! Now, if you fed Red Bull to a sloth, what would happen?
16.
That some sort of remuneration is secretly paid out to Mods in the form of special emoticons, as if there exists some sort of secret emoticon club. By the way, I'm not the one that's just joined. He's at the top of the page
You would never guess I have been on the gin tonight, would you? Drinking on duty!
17. Now thats nice, good to see one that isn't black!
18. I am tempted, but the last thing I need is induced GAS!
19. Well, it's a question mark.. ...in a blue box... ...in another box... ...in another box... ...and there are seven of them. It confuses me that you don't know what happened, were they uploaded on here?
20. What are you suggesting, you silly knigget! By the way, welcome!!
21. Well, I am very much a hobby player and am not gigging at the moment. Own two instruments, a Wal Mk2 and a Warwick SSII and, in honesty, I am not sure I would take either of them to a pub gig. The Wal without question I would not, the Warwick possibly, but I would not be able to let it out of my sight, however unpractical it may be!
22. Woo! I would love to hear how the new Octave Divider compares with the latest 3Leaf effort
