Warwick Streamer Stage 1 5-String and Warwick Thumb Bass Dirty Blonde
Kev replied to funkyjimbob's topic in Basses For Sale
Whats the P bass tone like from this? Also, a lightweight Warwick - didn't know they existed either! Looks good enough to eat
If I can answer, it is rather good. I AB'd mine with my recently sold Fender Highway One; the Warwick had more authority, sounded brighter yet 'woodier'. I think it would sound superb with flats. I actually prefer the P pup to the Twin Jazz, and I fell in love with that pup when I had my Dolphin. -

Its a great sound, nothing like a Thumb tone but, other than shape, it has nothing whatsoever in common with a Thumb BO! Lightweight and lovely to play. Need to replace the horrible plastic just a nut II (what were Warwick thinking with that design?!) and get some Prosteels on her. I'll get some decent photos up soon
Looks like Max Kahn - bass player in Leeds
Yup, that fits. I guess it used to be his then Like I say, not visible at all unless you shine a light directly on it at the right angle, even then it is nowhere near as visible as it is in that BD picture.
That looks fantastic! Are you considering trades?!
Not really as it has already been replaced by a new purchase, but it can't harm to ask (by pm please). EDIT: looks like this may already have gone, will update when confirmed.
Lovely looking thing. Is it a trick of my monitor/screen but does it have someone's name on the back of the body... possibly under the paint?
I noticed that, I think it may have something written in UV pen on the back, I don't know how it got picked up by Mark's camera as I cannot see it! Certainly nothing you can see on the bass in real life though, perhaps when the sun is at 48 degree angle to the ground and a full moon is due it appears....

Up for sale is this lovely Fender Highway One US Precision Bass. Discussed Here: http://basschat.co.u...in-bass-direct/ Purchased from Bass Direct here: http://www.bassdirec...ighway_One.html I bought this on a complete whim because it was such a cheap price for a lovely US Fender, however I am not a Fender man and never will be, so I'm quickly offering this back up at the same bargain price. Apparantly Mark at Bass Direct had 4 other buyers trying to buy the bass the same time I did, feel a little bad that I am moving her on already, hopefully someone who tried to buy before will get there first this time! This is the second version of the Highway One with the Nitro finish, badass bridge and baselines pickup. It is in a naturally reliced condition and has been gigged, really lovely looking instrument. Lightweight, plays great, freshly setup by Bass Direct with a low action and new strings. I will include the BD invoice and it comes in the soft gig bag.
It does look well made for the price, I was just wondering if it would be worth it as I already have a B3
What would you use it for? Whilst digital technology these days cover the vast majority of effects very well, in my experience I still have not come across a digital pedal that can do a drive/distortion/fuzz sound well. So, if that is what sound you would want from it, I would be confident in saying it will add a lot to your B3. However, if you are just looking to use it for EQ purposes, it will likely add little.

Watching his left hand makes my hand ache, I just don't know how he does his fingering like that. I am sure many pro's do too, but when I try to mimic those kind of shapes I can't do it at all. But that's probably just me. Some informative videos, but i'v not been persuaded to join. What do you get for your money? Are the videos and the other free stuff not enough as it is?

Darkglass Electronics Vintage Deluxe Limited Edition Preamp We Decided to celebrate our 5th anniversary with something special. The recult is this, a Vintage Deluxe with a beautiful stainless steel front plate. This Vintage Deluse was built in out Helsinki shop. What we love the most is making the nest sounding effects we can possibly make, and your support means that we can continue to do what we love. For that we are incredibly grateful. The Vintage Deluxe features the warm, tube-like tones of the Microtubes Vintage and adds a 4-band active EQ, parallel output and balanced line driver. It delivers the natural dynamic response and organic compression of classic tube amps and tape machines, fitting four decades of legendary tones into a package that will fit in your gig bag. WARNING: The Vintage Deluxe has a current draw of 30mA. Only use a regulated 9V DC adapter with a center-negative plug. Due to ecological reasons it does not accept batteries. Unregulated power supplies and/or higher voltages may result in suboptimal noise performance and even damage your unit, voiding the warranty. Darkglass Electronics Vintage Deluxe Limited Edition Preamp Features:

Level: Sets the volume of the overdriven signal.
Drive: Sets the amount of saturation in the overdriven signal.
Blend: Mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine control of the blend ratio.
Era: Interacts with the Drive knob to shape the character of the pedal. Dial it down to get the warm midrange tones of the 70s or crank it up to get the punchy metallic tones of 80s and 90s rock.
Bass: +-12dB @ 100Hz / Mid: +-12dB @ 1kHz / Treble: +-12dB @ 5kHz
Direct Output: A balanced version of the ¼" output, useful for running into PA's or studio mixing consoles. The Direct Output also includes a ground lift switch – this should be pushed in (grounded) in most scenarios.
Parallel Output: A passthrough for your input signal, useful for parallel processing.

[s]£250[/s] [s]£240 [/s]£220 shipped in the UK, EU shipping extra. Think this is over £300 at Bass Direct, and thats if they have any left! Not that it matters to most, but a truly stunning piece of design in real life. In fantastic condition with some velcro at the bottom. Stock picture:
Bought a bass off Gumtree last Friday night, paid by PAINPal. Went to collect on Sat as agreed, he emailed when I was driving down (2.5 hours) that he won't be in. My wife told me 3 hours later. I get there, nobody in except a fragile, deaf octogenarian? lady who came to the window. Don't really know even now if it's his address. I backed off in seconds as I could see I was frightening her. The phone number he gave me went to ansaphone for a local Sunday league club. I then had to go home on the way to that night's gig to pick up a spare bass. Another hour out of my way. On the Sunday he mailed in reply to the mail I sent on Saturday night, after a wasted journey of pushing 5 hours, plus an hour there trying to find him. He said he would post it on Tuesday. Last I heard from him, last Sunday. No bass, no real way of forcing contact. Gone to raise a dispute with PAINPal. CAN'T DISPUTE THIS TRANSACTION AS IT IS JUST A PAYMENT ACCORDING TO THEM, NOT A f***ing ITEM BOUGHT So, for the second time in 5 years I'm about to get f***ed for over £600 and PAINPal are washing their hands of it, despite a £23 charge plus the £650 for the bass, plus £30 out of pocket for fuel. I can't even TRY to get it back via credit card for 30 days. That will be a barrel of laughs no doubt. And people insist on f***ing PAINPal. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN
You sent it as a goods payment, but you got charged? I don't understand this. If you sent the money as a payment for goods, you as the buyer would never be charged. You are charged for using a debit or credit card gift payment, but I assume you didn't do this.
