1. This chap has just purchased a rather nice Warwick bass from me. Smooth transaction, paid when he said he would and seems happy with the bass, a pleasure to deal with. Cheers, Adam!
2.
Hi kev just checked on the history of warwick web page, it looks as if you are correct, from 1995 to 1997 they switched to a bubinga body. Also it seemse that this 1995 to 1997 period is now becoming a sort after period .
Absolutely! This bass will be a cracker for sure and it is a steal at that price
3. Nice Dolphin! Looks like a good refin, too!
4. Lovely looking bass mate! But I think that may be a bubinga body (it looks like bubinga from the colouring, walnut is somewhat lighter and browner), could be wrong! However, it is certainly a wenge (rather than ovangkol) neck. GLWTS!
5.
There is an old fretless Wal Pro 2E for trade - only for trade against a good five string bass - here in Sweden. Here is the link: http://pratabas.se/v...php?f=8&t=75233 Translated by Mayhem Translate gives: Well, I love this bass but still I need a fretless with at least five strings and this has only four ... A piece of British engineering from '79, absolutely top class and with a sound you will not find elsewhere. Newly renovated by Wal themselves (incl. reshaping the fretboard, new fingerboard markers, renovation of electronics, new chrome on the neck plate etc etc). I let the cracked laquer and dents be (see picture), then they do not bother me. Unfortunately, the original case is long gone when it fell into so many pieces that it could not be saved. Not for sale but only swapping for fretless 5- or 6-string. I imagine something like the F-bass, woody and mwwaah, preferably lined fingerboard and bolt-on but it is not a requirement. Trade value around £1500-1600. Can arrange more images.
Seems like a great deal if you have what he wants! I don't really know what the Pro 2E's go for but I would have thought anything under £2k would be a cracking deal?
6.
Awww keep it mate you know you will only miss it and end up buying another that will cost you more in the long run but GLWTS anyway
It is being replaced with a B3K 2.0, to use alongside the B7K so I effectively add a second channel to the preamp. The voicing of the tone suits me more
7. That sandwich of woods for the body is stunning! GLWTS!
8. Been looking at the 50th anniversary Jazz at Bass Direct a lot recently, and this is also very lovely! In the flesh, how do the two colours (candy red) compare?
9. Needs to go, this. Final drop to £220. No trades, please.
10. Bugger off, Dolphin hoarder
11. I'v nearly bought it 3 times at last count! I think he wants it withdrawn off memory but thought it worth asking
12. Great pedal I enjoy mine most in the lower drive settings, less is more for me with this pedal, I use Darkglass pedals for the heavier drive and it works brilliant with these. The bite switch very much off with a little treble boost instead, and speaker emulation on, sounds great for recording
13. Is this still available Torben?
14. I did think the same, awful. Wilko has been through an awful lot and was only weeks/months away from death as I recall, so I am sure that plays a part. Doesn't excuse Norman though, he was well off.
15. And sold. Thanks for all the interest, folks
16.
Looks superb! If only all Thumbs were made like this.
What, all Thumb basses lightweight, well balanced and tonally flexible?? It would never catch on
17.
Fantastically comfortable bass to play, weighs almost nothing! Good luck with the sale Kev
Cheers bud, the neck is wonderful on this, very much not the baseball bat associated with the period!
18. Awesome old skool B7K!
19. Lots of interest but for the moment is still here. Also listed on eBay Trade-wise, I am looking at SS1 or SSII 4 strings. Will consider other trades with cash my way, but ideally a cash sale on this one.
20. Kev

Fodera anyone?

Incredible, but its a Fodera. This is how much they are, and the pricelist does show that these basses go for $20-35k new. What I find far more incredible is someone paid this, and is now selling it so quickly.
21. Hands down, nicest looking Shedua Wal I ever did see. Stunning! And a superb price too!
